Which founding father would you hang out with . Kimberly. Kimberly i dont know. I guess one of my favorites was john adams. Juan why . Kimberly historically very significant. I think people more recently have come to understand his value, his influence on how important he was in american political history, some of his ideals. Also his wife. I think they were a very powerful pair. Juan and there were two adams presence. I thought you were going to say sam adams. Kimberly no, thats your choice. Jesse i would say ben franklin because i am a big philly guy. He is laid to rest there. Prolific writer, discovered electricity. Poor richards almanac, inspiring quotes about work and life and i enjoy that. I would like to hang with dana ally george washington. He wrote rules of civility. Im going to ask about that cherry tree. Juan i dont think he was married. Martha comes around. Dana i dont know when they got married. A jesse are you saying that you want to hang out . The father of our country. He wasnt preoccupied with a lot of family. Dana he was a busy guy. Juan our founding father at this very table, greg. Greg i would have to say bob lutz. Not a lot of people know him but he was there every step of the way. I find this question sexist. Arent we done with the whole idea of Founding Fathers . What about founding mothers . Why are we recognizing gender with our Founding Fathers . It is so heteronormative. Juan i would hang out with ben and you. He was in the newspaper business. I would like that. Greg he was a partier. He had two beds in his room. When the bed got warm he would move to the other one because it was cool. Charles he needed one of those beds with the temperature control. Juan lets do another question. This comes from patricia. How do you like to celebrate the fourth of july . Jesse beer, barbecue, fireworks. Dana im going to say dogs. No, i dont know. I like hanging out and being with everybody. I like a small town parade. Lately, because peter has the harley with a sidecar and jasper can get in it and the kids love it, i like the morning of the fourth of july even better than fireworks. Greg i dont like fireworks. I am like a dog. They scare me. I dont like. Because i am george mike yancey over people. Im going to be honest. Im actually not here. I am celebrating the fourth of july the way i would like to. Right now, i am sitting on an island. Im not going to tell you what island. This is a taped show. Kimberly like dana, i love a good parade and i like danas posts. Celebrating our nation, our independence, liberty, freedom. I think its great when people come together and go into parade. I meant that, but will deal. Commemorated and take a moment. We have all such busy lives to never forget the sacrifices people have made so that we can sit here today and have the show and speak our minds, and its fantastic. Amazing, most wonderful country in the world. Juan my favorite is to find a spot to watch the fireworks, but the one i remember most is being in bosto boston. Watching the boston pops play is the fireworks going off over boston. That was spectacular. The famous conductor. Arthur fiedler. The other thing i like about the fourth of july is its an opportunity to do fireworks. Fireworks, when i was a kid, mostly illegal but everybody would bring on these trash cans and boom, boom. I love that stuff. Greg best place to see fire works right now . My hot tab. Juan i thought you were on an island. Dana some years, because it is so dry, they wouldnt want fireworks because of the fire risk. We would get sparklers. Jesse you need to get the roman candles. Or the m80s. Greg i am a against roman candles. Juan third question. What traditions did you have for the fourth of july when you were children . Lets go back this way. Kimberly my brother and i used to really love to do the fireworks and so was a fun to go and shop for them. What . Greg never mind. Kimberly ignore him. I loved that. We would go pick up the fireworks. We would get them ahead of time and we did a whole thing on the block, invited everybody to com come. My dad had to sweep up the streets afterwards. And my brother would stockpile them and the Fire Department came and we got in trouble. Juan that is a rarity for you to get in trouble. Kimberly mostly due to my brother. Jesse i did the same thing, fireworks were illegal in philadelphia so we would go to chinatown or where across state lines up somewhere else bring them across. I would do it with my dad. Still have all my fingers. Safety first. Juan safety first. I think theres a new york giants Football Player who could use that advice. Dana we did a softball game and we would have a picnic. That was a big deal. Kimberly what position would you play . Dana i dont remember. Jesse they would probably stick you out in right field. Kimberly that is a dig, just so you know. Greg will use to do something called fireworks. Have you heard about that . You know what is always that best part, going shopping because you would always have to go to the stands by your school and youd either have to buy, you wanted the box, the big box had all that stuff in it but you werent sure if you had all the right stuff so you would fight. Jesse do they have fireworks in california or is it too patriotic . We used to have them and they took them away. Jesse Global Warming probably. Juan when i was a kid, the idea was in my mind i thought everybody else was having a picnic, but i grew up in a big city. My parents werent doing that. I thought it would be great to go on a picnic. That would be americana. When i got married, i got married on july 1, and on july 4th, we didnt go on our honeymoon but we are Walking Around washington waiting for the fireworks. It was great. The crowds, people are happy. You talk about a moment. Everybody celebrates the fourth of july. Question six this comes from nancy. If we travel back to 1776, what would your occupation be . Greg gutfeld. Greg i think i would be a time travel agent because if there were people coming back home i would have to be in charge of making their plans. Jesse get a commission on that. Dana fine being realistic, what job would they have given a woman in 1776 at that time . Probably not going to get to be a scout. I would like to be a scout. I would hope i would be up to do some sort of writing or teaching or something. Greg public relations. Theyve always had public relations. Kimberly i would be a lawyer. I would force my way in. Somehow, someway. Maybe if i had to disguise myself, i could do it. That white wig thing that you put on. Juan that would be cool. Jesse, i have something in mind for you. I think you should go and fight against the british. I think you should be a soldier. Jesse i probably wouldve been on the british side, though, because they were my people. I would have been a red coat. If i was on the british side, we probably would have won. I wanted to be one of the midnight riders that road with paul revere that warned that the british were coming. I think i would be good at yelling at the top of a horse. Greg i want to be a cobbler. Seems like it would be fun to sit around and hammer on peoples feet. Be a cobbler. Juan on their feet. I think chooses what you meant. Greg feet, shoes, cant tell. Juan if the Founding Fathers are watching, dont be offended. Greg didnt mean it. If the five could solve any mystery, which one would we choose . We are going to tell you next. For years ive trained dogs for the marines like me, some of these dogs have seen many tours of duty. In the meantime, the minority whip of the house of representatives is in the hospital. Steny hoyer has pneumonia. Hes expected to recover. We will take you to new york city where protester apparently has climbed the pedestal of the statue of liberty. You can see there agents trying to get her down. Thats the woman on the righthand side of the base of the statue right beneath the heel of the statues foot. There were other protesters who hung a banner on the statue that said abolish i. C. E. We assume that this woman is part of that protest group but that has not been absolutely determined at this point. She climbed the base of the statue which is quite illegal, as you can imagine. And she is just sitting there as authorities are trying to talk her down or bring her down. You can imagine they have evacuated Liberty Island as a result of that. A number of people whove been waiting for months, perhaps the years to have their chance to see this statue up close and personal and have their vacation plans destroyed as a result of this act. A couple groups are a couple members of some kind of antii. C. E. Group hung a banner on the pedestal of the statue just before this woman climbed onto the statue itself. They are continuing to try to coax the woman down but not using a great deal of force to do so at this point. Apparently just hoping to wait her out. This appears to be connected to the protest of the moment which began really just last week when a candidate for congress won a significant primary in the state of new york asking that i. C. E. , immigrations and Customs Enforcement agency, be abolished. That has caught fire among the left and this group is protesting. Some other headlines.
