FOXNEWSW The Ingraham Angle May 29, 2020

Terrific show, sean. I am Laura Ingraham and this is the ingraham angle from washington. Once again we were talking about earlier more tension in minnesota after the death of an unarmed black man. We will bring you the latest on the grounds and an important analysis to try to frame this for you. And we will bring you an exclusive the secretary of state mike pompeo. Here is my big question to ask him how can trump make china pay for its crackdown on hong kong and what that might mean for you also . Also, other important stories surrounding the firing of the ig at the state department and other news. Also, tonight we speak to a political scientist. Check this out, his model has predicted every president ial winner for the past 100 years. And hes going to tell us why despite some holes saying otherwise, trump has a 90 chance of winning this november. I cant wait to find more about that, but first minneapolis burning. That is the focus of tonights angle. And now as far as we can tell, it looks like outrageous and even perhaps murderous behavior by Minneapolis Police officers. Another black man in police custody, gasping for air, on the ground, defenseless, and then shortly thereafter dead. It is absolutely infuriating and heartbreaking. It is hard for people to watch it at all. I was thinking today, this means a lot of things, but it means many young africanamericans and many of them just starting out in their lives end up thinking once again that our criminal Justice System is not just rigged against them, it is targeting them. Now, President Trump was right to jump on this situation almost immediately, directing the doj, fbi to launch a civil rights investigation into the matter. The attorney general, the fbi and the attorney general to take a very strong look to see what went on because that was a very, very bad thing that i solve. Laura let me be really clear here. No one in america should feel stomach feel like he or she is being treated unfairly by Law Enforcement because of skinr any other characteristic for that matter. Tolerating anything but equal justice under the law and due process, it is simply unacceptable. You have every absolute right to be angry, to be upset, to be mad, to express your anger. However, you have no right to perpetrate violence and harm on the very communities that you say that you are standing up f for. Laura now in the year 2020, it is fairly obvious we need to ensure there is more protection for Civil Liberties across the board. For criminal suspects held by authorities and for protesters, whether in minnesota or in michigan. Our communities, our Constitutional Rights and frankly our National Soul are all at stake here. Yet as we have seen time again what began as peaceful protesting ended up in a very counterproductive and even criminal place. [screaming] laura bad actors through gasoline on the fire figuratively and literally and suddenly, the message of justice for all is not only lost, it is obliterated. These protest peaceful or good appeared advocating for rights and calls for the witnesses that the United States wants to come forward to. Violence not. Violence cancels our case. It takes valuable Police Resources away from the investigation, and also harms innocent people that had nothing to do with that. It gets into the way of the work. Laura fbi and of course the police on the scene trying to quell peoples concerns today and answer them, but excusing criminal behavior are somehow justified when it is carried out in response to the Police Brutality or any other abuse only ends up making a bad situation worse. Because it lowers the bar for everybody. It is frankly patronizing and even demeaning and it hurts more innocent people in the community in the process. Have we forgotten what happened during the obama years in baltimore . We tried to make sure that they were protected from the cars and the other things that were going on. He also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well. An outbreak of violence is by the death of a man in police custody. Things took a turn in baltimore, and there were many hours today of rioting and looting and burning cars and tonight, the fires continue in baltimore. Laura but they had to give space to the rioters. And have we forgotten what happened in ferguson . There are disappointments, frustration, anger demonstrators hitting the streets again with protesters erupting for a second night in ferguson. The police are asking all protest occurred during the daylight hours. This after two new shootings overnight, one involving police. Laura now the National Media swooped in before all the facts were known. Entire city blocks were torched, peoples lives blunt and racial crime got worse not better. In those cases the police were cleared of wrongdoing, including by the Obama Justice department in the case of the officer who shot and killed michael brown. Now in the death of george floyd, we have faith that our judicial system will proceed carefully and smartly. We have to do this right. We have two put it in a part of law. I will point to you the comparison to what happened to billy in baltimore and the gray case. It was a rush to charge, it was a rush to justice. All of those people were found not guilty. I will not rush justice because justice cannot be rushed. Laura now, im not going to pretend for a millisecond to know what its like to be a black person in america. I dont. But the only thing i do know is that we all need to do better. We need to love more. We need to respect more. Do better. While the wheels of justice turn in this case, it is important that we also push back against the notion that all Police Officers can never be trusted or that america just at its core is some cauldron boiling over with sure races of inequality. America isnt hopeless. Shes not irredeemable. They overwhelming majority of america just wants to live in peace here they want to live in harmony with our neighbors with all races and all ethnicities. Most americans are good people. Most Police Officers want to help, not hurt. Time and again, we see that the real change agents in america are those who stay in their communities and build them up, not burn them down. Rosa parks is a beloved, global symbol of freedom and justice because of the determination and dignity to which she carried out her civil disobedience. Would burning a store had been more powerful and transformative . I dont think so. And to our africanamerican fellow citizens i say this given his own experience with an outofcontrol fbi an unfair investigation, given all the work on criminal Justice Reform, President Trump knows how poisonous and outofcontrol Law Enforcement can be. We should spend more time trying to Work Together to ensure that we have a fair and just society. All human beings have inherent worth. All of them are endowed by god with inalienable rights. From the evidence available so far, it looks like george floyd was denied his. And that is the angle. Joining me now as pastor darrell scott, cofounder of the new Spirit Revival Center and coalition for trump and also angela santon king, goddaughter of aleta king, founder of the King Foundation who is in minneapolis today meeting with faith leaders. Great to have you both on tonight. Thank you for having us. Laura pastor scott, lets talk with you and we have skype so i will try not to talk over you and you do the same. Your reaction to what we have been seeing over the past week or so into codifferent cases where africanamerican man was shot in the reactions on the ground. Welcome i believe especially in the george floyd case and even these were disconnected, isolated events. I really dont believe, especially in the case of floyd come i dont want to make a black indictment on the Police Departments across america. I believe this is one officer and a number of other officers by not in agreement with what he did and they find it as disgusting and deplorable as we found it, but i dont think the racial tension that they are trying to, that the left are trying to convey are they are because the people protest i saw just as many whites as outraged as blacks. Across social medias i see as many whites and hispanics outraged over this as blacks. We look at this as an urban issue and that man denied civil rights and a horrible death and its absolutely tragic what happened to him. Laura it is a heartbreak. Angela, the media have a role in fanning the flames as well. Over at cnn, van jones had this to say. If you are white and watching this, look in your own life. How are you choking off black dignity . Checking off black opportunity, choking up black people from having an opportunity to thrive . Because it is not just that officer but a much deeper problem. How are all of us complicit in this . Laura angela, language like that and using the word choking, i guess he believes is a great effect but does that help bring people together, calm and passionate . I mean, absolutely not. Im right here right now on the scene, boots on the ground right here in minneapolis. And i will say this. I have seen more white people on the scene then i have black. Its not about race. I think when i had my speech today that calls for peace, everybody understands this is not a fight against black or white or Police Officer or civilian. This is good versus evil in this community has risen above and come together. I tell you something, i have seen hundreds of people standing in solidarity on the same page wanting you to be ready to help to clean their community up and putting it back together. So what they are saying was false which is important for me to come here and use my platform to show the truth. America is ready to move past racism and move forward, but we have a media that constantly wants to divide, and they are telling lies. Laura al sharpton showed up in minneapolis, not surprising i think not to solve anything, i dont think but of course to blame President Trump, watch. We should at least be in the halls of power and a recognition it is time to move. The president has readily made a statement, but hes not made any statements in the three and a half years hes been in. Just as the years as a public figure. So he should know that people are going to look at his words and say, are they empty words . Laura africanamerican unemployment and major Justice Reform and opportunities but to listen to al sharpton, President Trump might as well have had his knee on the victims neck. Al sharpton is not going down there to bring any peace. Hes going down there to inflame the tension that is already there. Hes looking for a photo. Ive never known a situation where al sharpton has gone into that made the situation better. It actually makes the situation worse. The peasant doesnt have to give words. His actions speak louder than words. Once again criminal Justice Reform, opportunities and levels of unemployment. Unprecedented funding for hbcu, hes been very, very proactive towards the black community. And you know what can i didnt see them trying to blame obama n blacks were killed on his watch, but you cant blame the president. The president took swift action. He sent the doj end. He sent the fbi info. He made a statement about the barbieri incident. What do you want him to do . The president will not be al sharpton. As much as al would love to be president , hes not. Laura angela 15 seconds and then we are out of time. Are the faith leaders going to make the difference on the ground to calm things down so we dont have so much unrest and bring people together . Will that happen . I believe the faith leaders should have been the first ones on the scene because that is what this community needs. They need leadership. It kind of reminds me when i was younger and getting in and out of trouble. I was just a kid hurting, acting out emotionally. That is what we see here. A lot of emotionally charged people that dont know how or where to divert their energy. The proper leadership is needed and im excited today that i was able to be here with faith leaders around the country to call for peace. Laura pastor scott, angela, thank you so much. Great to see both of you tonight. And the shocking video of those that not only peacefully protesting but taking an opportunity to loot and the violence that erupted only seem to escalate during the day. Check it out. [bleep] [bleep] [bleep] [bleep] [bleep]. To all my White Brothers and sisters, we appreciate coming out to support us. This is not your space this is not your space laura this is not your space joining me as a journalist who shot those videos, julio, the last gentleman was presumably a local and message directed at antifa. Do you get the sense that looting is happening from people inside or outside minneapolis . Or is it a mix at this point . Because so basically there are three different types of groups of people here. There are people who are part of black lives matter that wanted to keep the protest. There were people part of the protest, but their target another Grocery Store nearby. They started to take part in looting. In another group people mainly interested in looting and writing. It is a Silver Lining what has been happening. But i have seen some black lives matter protesters trying to defuse the situation but up until 20 minutes ago, things have completely evolved as the protesters left and the raiders came since they have taken down the fence outside of the third precincts building. And the police had to respond with tear gas and flash bangs. Laura we are looking at another building, not too far from where you are right now, julio. I dont think you can see it from where you are, but another building has been set on fire tonight, again, these are people protesting. Other networks wont use the word rioting but i dont know what you call lighting buildings on fire and then destroying or stealing contents and i dont know what you call that but that seems to drown out in a positive message coming out of this situation. That is one of the unfortunate things that came out of this tragic situation. As i said before, there are people here that just simply wanted to protest. As i have been documenting throughout the day, people have been taking advantage of the absence of police because at least here at the third precinct, they have been holed up inside the building. The only time i have seen cops outside is when they went to the convoy, suv convoy to apprehend somebody. As you can imagine, as the police raced down the street, with bottles, rocks, anything that the rioters can throw at that had anything to it. Laura julio, it doesnt seem that, you know georges family is supporting this violence come obviously. They want justice. Some of them are saying this is to be expected. And you have to let people have their say. And that is what some are saying. You are being drowned out by what is happening behind you, but you can see that this could get a lot worse really quickly when the Police Officers are not able to get to victims and other parts of the city because of what is happening. I know you have an explosion. Be careful behind you. But if the Police Officers arent coming out to calm things down, i guess we will see what anarchy looks like. That is basically what we are seeing right now. Right now, the city has asked for the Minnesota National gua national guard. That request was revealed come late last night. I have been around this area since around 12 00 and i have yet to see any National Guardsmen or anything let alone Law Enforcement police presence. As you said before, it is unfortunate this is all being done in George Floyds name. Just because it is a tragic situation and unfortunately commit is starting to hurt other minorities because there were a few somalian americans who had to sit outside of their cafe because people were trying to break in along with other minority owned businesses were also being attacked. There was one right down the street from me that had graffiti, saying we are minority owned businesses. Please dont loot a spear that apparently has worked. I havent seen anybody mess with that restaurant. Laura so thats what you have to do to make sure that your restaurant is not destroyed or your store . Julio, thank you for your great oon the ground reporting. Everybody says stay safe, but stay safe, be careful, and we will keep our eyes on minneapolis throughout the hour. But it looks like things are evolving there as you said it. Thank you, julio, we will talk to you soon. Yesterday, moving on to a different topic here, mike pompeo released the most significant statement ever as it relates to u. S. china relationship. It is not an exaggeration. He joins us exclusively in a few moments to tell us what this will mean for all of us next. Laura overnight the city of hong kong went from being a beacon of liberty to a communist controlled police state. The Chinese Communist party imposing socalled National Security laws now in hong kong that will effectively end the citys 23 years of selfrule. No, yesterday secretary of state mike pompeo released a jawdropping statement that the United States cannot recognize hong kong and one hope of hong kong to provide a model for a thought authoritarian and train it is modeling hong kong after itself. Joining us now is secretary of state mike pompeo. Mr. Secretary, thank you for joining us tonight. Your statement seemed to signal the beginning of a new era in u. S. china relations. Can you tell us tonight without getting ahead of the president that this is a serious turn away from our engagement with china to a much tougher approach to what they have done to hong ko hong kong. Lord is gre
