Also ahead this evening, the three biggest lies reported in the media this year. And miller tell us whats on his christmas list. This is going to reboot the economy. Caution, you are about to enter the nospin zone. Factor begins right now. Hi, im bill oreilly. Thanks for watching us tonight. Why some black americans dislike their country. That is the subject of this evenings talking points memo. The cold truth is African Americans have it harder than other ethnic groups in the usa that is a fact. And anyone who denies it is not living in the real world. But there is another truth, and that is america offs more opportunity to black people than any other country on earth. I received a letter from Kendall Qualls who lives in erie, coloerican with a masters degree from the university of michigan. I paid for my education personally by working and taking loans. America is not only fair, but an inspiring place for the entire world. Here you can build dreams. So why, then, do we hear so many other voices condemning america . Interesting question. Enter president obama, perhaps the greatest African AmericanSuccess Story in history. But the president has largely avoided the racial issues that are now planted on page one. When basketball superstar lebron james and other prominent African Americans displayed disenchantment with the Justice System, the president praised them. While honest dissent is a hallmark of our country, there is something missing here, and that something is perspective. Speaking the factor last week, Geraldo Rivera urged tshirts be a good father to your son. Mr. Rivera rightly focusing on the primary issue Holding Blacks back in america, chaotic families. It is certainly valid for president obama to tell People Magazine that he has experienced racism in his life. He and the first lady tell stories about white folks talking down to them. I believe every single African American has experienced that. So have most overweight americans, most gay americans, most of us have been insulted and ridiculed by ignorant people. That is not the collective fault of the nation. It is the individuals failing. A bad decision by a grand jury such as one in the eric garner case does not mean the entire Justice System is rigged. Just as criminal behavior by some African Americans doesnt mean all black citizens are bad. This simplistic condemnation of america by bitter people is dangerous, especially because the National Media is too callow, too frightened to provide a balance. Here is a good example of what is in play. The actor samuel l. Jackson is a tremendous american Success Story, yet he has jumped on the grievance train. I can hear my neighbor crying i cant breathe now im in a struggle and i cant leave calling out the violence of the racist police we aint going to stop till people are free we aint going to stop till people are free come on, sing it out. Come on. Come on the factor. Of course, mr. Jackson will not do that. Let me tell you a bit about him. He was raised by his grandmother in chattanooga, tennessee. No father present, mother lived in another city. Jackson was poor, lived in an all black neighborhood. But he is very intelligent, and eventually found his way to morehouse college. There he associated with some black militants and entered his, quote, kill whitie period. Mr. Jackson was so radical the fbi actually investigated him back in the 1960s. Nevertheless, his talent proved out. I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the lord. At this point samuel l. Jackson has made more than 100 films and is a very, very wealthy man. So with all due respect, rather than diminish his country, mr. Jackson should be trying to make it better. His message could be that if i can succeed, so can you. Again, African Americans do have it much tougher than whites. Its true some cops dont like blacks. Its true historical injustice has affected the black experience in america. But this country now offers a pathway to success for everybody. And while injustice must be dealt with, the message of opportunity and americas basic nobility should be on the back side of every one of those i cant breathe tshirts. And thats a memo. Now for the top story tonight, reaction. Joining us from atlanta, Martin Luther king iii, the oldest son of Martin Luther king jr. Mr. King is a human rights activist. So where am i going wrong, mr. King . Where are you going wrong . Im not sure that i can say where youre going wrong. What i would say is that our nation does need to hear a unifying message that brings us together. In other words, the African American community may not always suggest that it is constantly a victim, but while there are victim situations, you can overcome those situations and become successful. All right. And thats what im saying. And thats what one the factor viewers wrote in. But thats not what samuel l. Jackson is saying. Its not what al sharpton is saying. And to some extent, its not what president obama is saying. See, i dont mind president obama saying to lebron james hey, look, im with you. And thats what he did. But he also has to provide some leadership in the sense of saying just what you said. Just exactly what you said. You know what . We fight the injustice and we realize its there, but we love our country. We applaud the progress weve made. And here is a pathway to success, you know . Dont abandon your children. Dont get pregnant at 14. Dont allow your neighborhoods to deteriorate into free fire zones. Thats what the African American community should have on their tshirts. Am i wrong . Well, i think thats a part of it, but thats not the entirety. I do think that my dad says that injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. So unfortunately, right now the nation is focused on one segment instead of the whole. I think we need to use this opportunity to not just focus on that one segment, but to focus on the whole so that we are addressing those issues just as were addressing instances of police misconduct. Okay. You think americas a noble nation . Oh, absolutely. Thats interesting, because your father was gunned down by a white racist, killed, his life taken. But yet you, his eldest son still believe that america is a noble nation. So could you explain that, why you believe it . Not only do i believe it, i know it. All you got to do is look at whenever there is a natural catastrophe, whether its a tsunami or whether there is a hurricane or a tornado, americans come running to help. Thats who we are at heart. Unfortunately, once that catastrophes over, we go back to our corners and live simply. Im not suggesting we need to live in crisis all the time. What i am saying is when there is a crisis, we dont ask well, are you a democrat or a republican, gay or straight, black or white, we come running to help. We saw that after 9 11. Absolutely. Now, 12 years later were seeing demonstrators in the streets of new york saying kill the cops. Were seeing looting in missouri, primarily by African Americans. Were seeing commentators saying the worst possible inflammatory stuff about their country. And an actor who is well respected in the black community, samuel l. Jackson singing that stupid song that basically indicts all american law enforcement. And, you know, puts forth that we are living in a South African apartheid situation. And its really insulting, i think. I think its just insulting. Well, i would say that unfortunately, many African Americans and particularly young people do feel that way, that because they are targeted every day. And that doesnt mean that others who dont have that experience are bad people. Your experience has been different. Certainly you my experience has been different. But by and large, young people seem to feel theyre targeted by the police. But to some extent they are. To some extent they are. Yes, yes. Because of the astronomical crime rates on the south side of chicago or here in new york city or South Central in los angeles mean that the zone is going to be flooded by Police Officers protecting the lawabiding blacks who live there, and guys hanging out on the corner are going to be targeted. Theyre going to be questioned, and some of these police dont like them. And thats a reality. But thats not the whole country. And if the crime rate could drop in these places, then you would see a lifting of that i believe. Go ahead. Go ahead. Certainly that can happen. But somehow opportunity has to come to those areas that are excluded. And, you know, you can say well, educate yourself. Pull yourself up by your own boot straps. Those are great concepts. But when you have no boots, its very challenging to pull yourself up by your own boot straps. The only way the opportunity is going to come is not from bill oreilly, a white guy from a white suburb of levittown, working class. I cant provide it. The community itself has to provide it. The south side of chicago has to say enough. They have to rise up like your father implored people. Rise up, be dignified. Speak out for positive change, not kill the cops. Last word. Well, first of all, that is counterproductive and destructive. There is no i dont believe that the masses of demonstrators are talking about kill the cops. There may be some. But thats insanity. We do need all hands on deck. Americans coming forward saying look, there is a problem, there is no problem we cant address when we bring ourselves together using our minds, our hearts, and being open. I agree with that. We are a great nation. All right, mr. King. Any time you want to come on the program, you are welcome. Thanks for taking the time. Thank you for the opportunity. Merry christmas to you. Next on the rundown, president obama normalizing relations with cuba. The taliban slaughtering Muslim Children in pakistan, and a federal judge telling president obama his immigration action unconstitutional. Those reports moments away. If youre suffering from constipation or irregularity, powders may take days to work. For gentle overnight relief, try dulcolax laxative tablets. Ducolax provides gentle overnight relief, unlike miralax that can take up to 3 days. Dulcolax, for relief you can count on. Dulcolax, for relief you can count on. Because i make the best chicken noodle soup. Because i make the best chicken noodle soup. Because i make the best chicken noodle soup. For every way you make chicken noodle soup, make it delicious with swanson®. We have plenty to talk about, including president obama normalizing relations with cuba, and the taliban slaughtering 132 Muslim School children in pakistan. As i said last night, that horrendous mass murder is pakistans own fault. It could have allied with the usa and nato in fighting the taliban. It did not, preferring to make deals with the devil. Yesterday white house spokesperson josh earnest actually parsed the taliban. Tell me about josh earnest is the difference between the Pakistan Taliban and the Afghan Taliban . What is that . When my fox news colleague ed henry questioned josh earnest about this Horrific School attack in pakistan, the white house spokesman was quick to know it was the Pakistani Taliban that carried out this attack. The reason he made that distinction is ed in forming his question had asserted some linkage between this horrific event and the u. S. Drawdown in afghanistan. And earnest was trying to delink this horrific event from the state of affairs that were going to be leaving behind in afghanistan. Bottom line here, both afghanistan and pakistan remain client states of the United States. Both remain deeply troubled places with weak central governments not capable of neutralizing the terrorist elements in their midst. There is more to it because mr. Earnest is not being honest with the american people. All right, the taliban in afghanistan live in pakistan primarily. Thats where their sanctuaries are. They live right next door to the Pakistan Taliban. Its the same crew. So its disingenuous to put forth that kind of malarkey. And that offends me deeply, rosen. I think youre easily offended, maybe not in this case, but we can come back to that. The other complicating factor here, bill, this is a Nuclear Armed nation, pakistan. And the risk of terrorists getting the keys to the Nuclear Arsenal arent much diminished when secretary Hillary Clinton used that phrase. They have 132 dead muslim kids. Maybe theyll finally wise up and take care of these taliban. All right. Lets get to cuba. President obama going to normalize relations with the castro brothers. But some in congress are saying they might try to stop that. What do you know, rosen . Well, todays announcement fell into three parts, bill. The first was the cuba released alan gross, the 65yearold contractor for usaid who had been imprisoned in cuba since 2009. The Obama Administration said that was done as a humanitarian gesture. And the second part of this was a prisoner swap of which gross was not a part. The u. S. Released three cuban natives who had served as spice for cuba who had been in prison over 15 years here in the United States in exchange for cuba releasing one american who had been a spy for us and imprisoned in cuba. The third and central part was president obamas announcement of dramatic changes to policy change towards cuba, much of which has been in place since the era of jfk. The bottom line here, bill, yes, the u. S. Is moving towards normalization of relations with cuba, complete with an American Embassy in havana at some point and will reevaluate whether cuba should remain on the list of nations that sponsor terrorism. But if you look at the state departments 2013 annual report country by country on human rights, this remains an authoritarian country that practices just about every abuse you can think of on its citizens. And the president s rationale if they see more americans and more americans go to cuba, that will undermine communism more than the embargo which really hasnt done much in 50 years than impoverish the cubans. I dont think thats a bad point. It will be interesting to see how congress deals with it. Finally putin. Do you believe in karma . Oh, i do. Its going to get you. Its not going get me, because im a good guy. But putin is a bad guy. And now the russian economy is collapsing, including the currency, the ruble. Why is that happening, rosen . Well, really for a variety of reasons. Their boiling point was reached this week when Russias Central Bank announced it was hiking its key interest point from 10. 5 to 17 , the largest increase in 15 years. Its intended to prop up the russian currency which has plummeted against the dollar. Number one, Falling Oil Prices around the world. And thats oso key to the russian economy. And also the sanctions that the u. S. And the European Union imposed in the wake of the ukrainian crisis. Those sanctions are going to get tougher by weeks end. Lets pile on them. And its karma because putin is killing people, invading countries he shouldnt. And this russian economy could go. This could be a recession. Are you buddhist . No, but i admire some of the eastern philosophies. And i do believe in karma. You know, and thats why were reevaluating your appearance on this program. But no, no, no, no. Do you have a mantra . I do. And its cameron, because he is up next. All right, cameron. Im glad you didnt doze off during rosen. It was a struggle. A judge, a fe judge has now i guess issued a report that says president obamas executive order on illegal immigration, saying that people can stay here and theyre not going to be deported is unconstitutional. That what happened . Thats what he said. His name is federal judge arthur j. Schwab. He is in the Western District of pennsylvania courts out there in pittsburgh. He wrote just this week that president obamas unilateral action deferring deportations is unconstitutional and says it violates the separation of powers in the constitution. But he also complains in his words that, quote, it provides for a systemic and rigid process by which a broad group of individuals will be treated differently than others based on arbitrary classifications rather than case by case examination. And b, he wrote, it allows undocumented immigrants who fall within these broad categories to obtain substantive rights. Thats a nono under the constitution. Why is this judge involved at all . He is a federal judge in pennsylvania. Why is he involved at all . Well, he was dealing with an individual case of a honduran man, an individual deportation case. Because of that it means what he wrote doesnt really have the ability to nullify the president s actions. The Justice Department saiwhat the judge did is flatly wrong and it has no basis at all to issue this order. Democrats take shots at schwab. They note he was appointed by george w. Bush. They also note that in 2008 he got one of the lowest ratings possible for a federal judge by the Bar Association in Allegheny County outside of pittsburgh. And in 2011, he had to excuse himself, recuse himself from 17 cases that he was actively involved in because he was accused of bias. He does become the First Federal judge to weigh in on obamas immigration actions. All
