FOXNEWSW The Story With Martha MacCallum September 11, 2018

About 750 miles offshore from the southeast coast of the United States from South Carolina and North Carolina. Its moving in that direction pretty quickly. The forecast shows the center of the hurricane approaching the coast and likely coming ashore late thursday into friday. Expected to remain very strong, category three or possibly category for all that time. Expect to see destructive winds all along the coast. Those ones will be pushing storm surges all along the coastline and here we have a map showing there is a storm surge and effects now for much of the South Carolina and North Carolina coast and this is where we expect the inundation levels to occur as a hurricane makes landfall. As much as 913 feet for the rise of the water with the waves as landfall occurs. As the center comes ashore, we expected to slow down significantly. Thats going to increase the threat of another kind of flooding, and that will be rainfall mainly in the inland areas. So here is a map of the forecast and rainfall, again, South Carolina, North Carolina and virginia. As much as 35 inches and isolated spots in North Carolina with lesser amounts but still well over 5 inches in a huge area which will cause significant flooding and perhaps catastrophic flooding in in in land areas. At the National Hurricane center, imad rappaport. Martha lets go now to foxs at Rick Leventhal is live in right field, and when you look at what ed rappaport is reporting there, it looks like that area could be the bullseye. Yes and they know it. A lot of these no to of new homes are built over garage is on pilings but that would put water in the first floors above about the garages on most of these houses along the beach here. Its a beautiful night tonight, you can see folks coming out to take a look at the atlantic which is very calm. No rain today which is very hot earlier, its cooled off quite a bit and obviously very calm before what could be a very destructive storm. And theyve gotten a lot of rain over the past few weeks, the ground is saturated. 23 feet, maybe up to 4 feet of rain in some spots which will be dramatic, as you heard, catastrophic flooding. They have power crews staged already across the state, asking hundreds of thousands of customers that will be in the dark. There are mandatory evacuation orders in effect along the carolina coastline. Lots of people, martha, heeding the warnings and getting out. We talked to some folks who plan to ride this one out despite the looks of it which at this point is very, very sobering. Martha it sure is, thank you very much. President trump keeping a watchful eye on this storm, and he held a meeting with federal officials from fema and dhs. What are the chances that it veers off and the hit will be so direct . What are the chances of that . Unfortunately theres quite a bit of certainty in the track forecast because of forward speed is picking up and getting faster. When the systems do that, i think the expectation needs to be set with the citizens in this area. If youve been asked to leave, get out of the areas that are going to flood and get into a facility that can withstand the wind. Martha here is a senior administrator with fema. I know you guys are very busy but the latest track and latest information, 913foot storm surge and North Carolina. It was enormous. Potential for 2530 inches of rain there. How are you getting ready for that . Thanks for having us this evening. We have been monitoring the track of the storm, and we have been looking at how it was intensifying. Our focus right now is ensuring that we have people within a fema, female employees within the National Response Coordination Center as well as those Forward Deployed in the field to assist our state and local partners. Martha how difficult is it, we have watch the storms over the years, and often they will take a turn at the end. And, as we heard today in the oval office it looks like its on a fairly straightforward path. But within that, your folks have to be ready to mobilize to the north and the south. Are they ready for that . And how do they do that . If they are already in certain areas. We have incident management assistant teams that have been going out already to the areas that could see the greatest impact in North Carolina, South Carolina and virginia. Even other parts of the nation where there could be a heavy delusion of rainfall as well. We are prepared and we are leading forward and ensuring that we support every state, local and tribal community. Martha what are there in terms of Power Outages . Martha when we look at s storms in this area out there have been parts that have been been impacted from anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. Thats where we echo the constant individual preparednes preparedness. Emergency supplies and Prescription Medication for themselves and their pets so that if they are in a situation where they have an extended power outage, they have the means to take care of themselves. But also a state and local officials are calling for evacuations, we ask everyone to heed the warnings of the state and local officials and to get out of harms way while we still have time. Martha just looking at some of these areas along the coast. Obviously those homes are very vulnerable, and we all remember we sort of watch, theres been a variety of responses over the year. Some of them go very well and beastly that katrina example was an unusual one. What are the lessons that you think have been learned . And is there a point where we are in much better shape or we are not going to see the kind of catastrophic outcome where we are there . The hurricane itself could be catastrophic. So there will be the impacts of the event, but how we respond will be critical. We have already leaned a very far forward and been in touch with every state, and we are learning lessons from every disaster. Not just 2017 but from every disaster and every Emergency Response that we have. The difference here is we are implementing those lessons already and have been throughout the year. So you are expecting late thursday. There could be severe amounts of rain before and after that so be prepared for that. Has to be one you have your hands full and we thank you very much for being here as we watch that track in the upper righthand corner of the screen and we will give that up as we move forward over the next couple days. Thank you very much. Thank you, martha. Martha coming up next, so much hinged on George Papadopoulos. But that he turn out to be what he was cracked up to be as a source . Martha he was thought to be the smoking gun, his name used as part of the justification for the pfizer warrants, but now that George Papadopoulos is speaking out, is he fizzling out as a big fish . And what about the people sent to offer him the goods . Were they potentially setting him up . These are some of the questions that are still out there with regard to his part of the story, what really happened . Chief National Correspondent ed henry in washington with the story tonight. When George Papadopoulos first pled guilty to lying to the fbi last october, many in the Mainstream Media thought the walls were closing in. One pundit after the other declaring it was a bombshell. Last fall the left kept pushing the narrative that the president was in deep trouble because of papadopoulos interactions with an fbi informant and an alleged source for the unverified antitrust dossier which might unlock the key to Trump Campaign collusion with russia to try to get dirt on hillary clinton. Except trump loyalist skeptics kept insisting papadopoulos was just a glorified coffee boy who did not have a major role in the campaign who appears to be set up by a professor and fbi informant. Then professor asked leading questions about whether it was tied to russia. It they came to believe that papadopoulos lied to the fbi not about that contact but because he had colluded with russia but because he wanted to cover up that meeting in hopes he could still end up big job with the trump team. Some of the president s critics are still trying to keep alive the idea that he has some kind of connection to russia. Binding russian operatives to meet with the president is kind of a diplomatic thing i would think. You are saying it sounds different than being the coffee boy that they are now describing being on the campaign. I have no background at all. When i was applying to work on the campaign i didnt express any real interest to work in russia whatsoever. I came from an Energy Background and all of my business was done in the middle east. As you can see, his expertise was egypt, not russia. Last fall when he pled guilty, the papadopoulos plea coupled with other probes, just of the scandal could be worse than watergate. Martha . Martha here now is dan bongino composed of the dan bongino show and former secret Service Agent. Hes been following this case very closely as anyone who listens to his show nose. Good to see you, thank you for being here. You heard what ed reported in the set up piece, one of the things that keep striking me were, who were these people who were sent to sort of tantalized George Papadopoulos and try to give him information and whats the basis of that . And how did he first come to meet the professor . Watch. He invites me to the end as hotel by the liverpool station. And he said, lets get breakfast. I had no idea what he wanted to talk about it except for that he was returning from russia. So i thought, okay, lets meet. Suddenly he drop this bomb on me and he says, i just got back from russia and i have all this information, but the russians have thousands of Hillary Clintons emails. Martha what does that sound like to go . It sounds like papadopoulos was not part of collusion but a set up. There are three key set ups her here. And with specific regard, whats fascinating about this is, are we interested anymore about following the evidence, or have partisan blinders made us the interaction has is not what the media made it out to be. And no evidence has been produced to refute this. There was no offer of emails, it was simply a statement. However untoward it may have been about having russia emails, thats fine. No evidence has come up to the contrary, was apparently ever made available at all. One more thing. The lawyer and his associates,y are photos out there to prove it. I wish people could look at the evidence and not conjecture. It would be great if people would look into that as well. It just raises a lot of questions and there were several of these papadopoulos interviews this morning. Listening to everything he says, the question that rises for me over and over is, why were these people suddenly popping into his life . I know he was on the list of Foreign Policy advisors but suddenly there is a ton of interest in him and everyone is putting in front of him very tantalizing information to try to see, it feels like it, if he would take the bait. The answer is, at that stage of the Trump Campaign, we have to put ourselves back to where we were. A lot of the more elitist Foreign Policy, and i dont mean that in a bad way, but elite Foreign Policy advisors who sadly at that time had avoided the Trump Campaign. And and mr. George poppel papadopoulos was not up one of those elite guys and he was an easy target to set up because he hadnt had this experience in the arena in the past. The set up narrative is very credible if you look at it. Martha i do want to ask you about what donald trump jr. Had to say about the fallout at the white house. After this oped appeared from a disgruntled senior administrator official. He says the circle is getting very small of trust. Watch this. I think there are people in there that he can trust, its just a much Smaller Group than i would like it to be. Who do you trust . I will keep that to myself. And they are not family . Outside of family, i think that goes without saying. Martha what do you make of that . It sad that it comes to this. We have a duly elected president of the United States you are free to disagree with or not. He cant even get advice from an elite bunch of people out there because they dont trust anyone and this oped was just a cowardly, really despicable act. Martha, i dont speak with forked tongue on this, i dont look for anyones applause line but i resigned my job as a secret Service Agent when i left under the barack obama administration. I had no personal dislike for barack obama, i just felt like the country wasnt headed in the direction. This person who brought this up, he should do the brave thing and not the cowardly and resigned. But i dont blame them for shortening up or tightening up their circle. Its clear they cant trust anyone and its clear the media will print this kind of stuff to make them look bad. Martha it before i let you go, gary cohen and rob porter both came out today with statements basically saying that they loved working in the white house, that they felt that the portrayals of them in the woodward book were misleading. Obviously, they are in a difficult position and the word is that the president is very unhappy with them. You do have to ask yourself, if this book has been created to push of a certain narrative, or, was he really open about everything that he was told . Some of the denials have been pretty forceful from others as well, including general kelly who is a well respected man on both sides of the aisle. And martha, having seen the first year of the white house, i can tell you from having been here on the ground that chaos in the white house is not a hallmark of any one specific administration in the first year. Its a hallmark of all of them. I was there. I think the book has some issues. Martha dan, thank you. Thanks so much for coming on. So, will she stay or will she go . Nancy pelosi says its all up to President Trump. I said, if hes here, im here. Martha breaking news, guess who else is about to hit the campaign trail for the midterms . We will be right back. Be right back. With moderate to severe Crohns Disease, i was there, just not always where i needed to be. Is she alright . I hope so. So i talked to my doctor about humira. I learned humira is for people who still have symptoms of Crohns Disease after trying other medications. And the majority of people on humira saw significant symptom relief and many achieved remission in as little as 4 weeks. Humira can lower your ability to fight infections, including tuberculosis.
