FOXNEWSW Your World With Neil Cavuto February 17, 2017

To boeing to that plant there in south carolina. Listen. Just look at whats going on today in our country. You look at what is happening with jobs. You look at what is happening with plants moving back into our country. All of a sudden theyre coming back. Theyre going to be very happy about it, believe me. There in south carolina, the president touted other commitments from Companies Like general motors, ford, Fiat Chrysler and intel. This was the first trip by a president to a company, leaving washington d. C. And going to a company across this country. Ill submit to you its not coincidental. Its a company that deals with manufacturing. Neil . Neil amazing. All right. Ill tell you, blake, its getting wilder and wilder by the second. What we said yesterday when everyone was getting wacky about this, we wound continue doing what we have been doing. Well report the controversial stuff and gosh knows theres a lot of that well also report the good stuff. Fair and balanced. Heres some of the controversial things a couple things about. The andy puzder withdrawing. He took himself out of the running. Michael flynn resigned and what he knew and when he knew it. You know that. The judge suspending the vetting ander and his back and forth with that over what is fair and right. The media pouncing on him for being racist, et cetera. And then the whole mexican president cancelling. Thats the stuff you know. That stuff we reported. What the president has argued, why does the media stop there and say all i do is botch things up . Thats where he might have a point. This is some of the stuff that im going to explore with gop polster lee carter. Those are some of the items. I want to keep that up and make we can split the screen here. Lee, weve seen a better than 2 1 2 trillion increase in market value since all of this began. Weve seen a number of big deals. A number of big corporations. Multibillion dollar commitments were outlining here. Some of those are hard to read. Go big on that. But this is what doesnt get nearly the amount of attention. This doesnt get nearly the amount of scrutiny good or bad. So leigh, what im wondering about, does the president make a fair point when its the bad stuff . Its one thing if they were to mention it. Some of them dont make passing reference to it. Theres absolutely no question that were seeing one side of the story on a main street media. In many ways they havent come to term with what President Trump represents and what he has accomplished. A lot of folks are attributing the market rally to president obama. We have seen a 2,200 point since the election. You talk to investors and folks are saying theyre doing this because of the promise of the tax cuts. The economic policies that were seeing. When you report on a number of jobs created under President Trump, people are saying, you know what . Its just the media the Companies Taking advantage of announcing what theyve already done. No one is willing to give credit where credit is due. People are not willing to give donald trump a fair shake. I think he has every right to be frustrated. Harris you know, one of the things i have to say, i have no axe to grind here. President trump avoids me show. Goes to mitt romney and criticized him. President trump is free to do that. I have no priorities here outside of fairness. Right. Neil the point to be made is that he is just looking at actions that would normally in the past the media would have seized on instead getting the benefit of debt, he gets the debt of the benefit. Consistently he sees that. So rushing out a executive order on vetting, thats fine. Have at it. But at least include some of this other stuff. Thats right. I think part of the problem with the way things are being covered, you see a headline in the New York Times that calls the president a pathological liar. You see the Washington Post today talking about all of the problems of donald trump and headlines. The problem with that is, so many reporters read that and dismiss it. People dont know where to turn for facts. People dont know where to turn for truth. You have 91 in some surveys or 87 in others saying thats the number of the people on the republican side that report what the president has done. 9 said they dont support the president. Thats a huge division. When you see negative, people say i wont even listen to you and throw it out the door. The other side, if you only heard the positive stuff, youre not willing to listen to it. Theres no way for folks to turn to get fair and balanced information. Theyre left to read twitter and facebook where theres a lot of confirmation bias. It hard for folks to get the information that will change their opinions or just seem factual. Neil as we were going through some of the pow wows hes had with heads of state four a total, four weeks into it, but every Major Industry Group from the automakers to big industrialists, to silicon valley. Many of whom were no big fans of the president but are willing to work with him. The retails ceos of big manufacturing. More in such a short time than ive seen. What comes of those meetings, any ones guess. Whether that really translates into renewed Business Activity in this country, whether a lot of the commitments hes gotten from intel and g. M. And the others to manufacture and broaden their base in the u. S. , any ones guest. We would have in the past made great mention of it. Especially when it came to solar and related investments on the part of barack obama, the media mentioned that as it should. Its a big deal. You want to chock up those jobs. Many wonder whether they were much adieu about nothing. But we mentioned those jobs. We mentioned these job commitments now. Why are we discerning one is better than the other . That does sicken a lot of peoples crawl. It does. This its an unbelievable statement that were talking more about the people that are boycotting the white house than the people that are goingwhite. All of the ceos of pharmaceutical companies. They came out feeling optimistic saying they felt like they would create more jobs, have more innovation because regulation would be lifted. The expense an burden as they get drugs to market, causing the prices to rise will be relieved. What are we talking about instead . The negative thing. Elon musk sits n a committee at the white house. Were not talking about him but the uber ceo who has had to pull out because of the controversy around the aclu. Its crazy we cant have conversations in a positive way about whats happening. No question some things havent been great. No question that weve had a lot of problems and even though yesterday President Trump did say that, you know, things are a fineoiled machine in the white house, we know theres been some issues. At the same time, where is the conversation about all of the good that is happening. A lot of activity. Youre right. Balance it out. All of this comes back to the fact that he doesnt like them, they clearly dont pull for him. So they call him thinskinned. The irony is, their skin appears to be thinner. Thanks, leigh. Great to be here. Stepping back and looking at this in some perspective. Dow eeking out another record, the seventh in a row. Nearly 3 trillion in market value. This is in keeping with the theme that it has gotten bigger and higher in value. When youre directly invested in the market or not, through your pension, your 401 k or just if you see people at work smiling more than they normally do, indirectly sometimes directly, that is affecting you. That doesnt get much attention but getting investors attention. By the way, these are people putting their money on things looking positive and moving up. You have a choice between marketeers and pundits. We have gary here and lindsey. So gary, to that point, lets say donald trump might not be a saint. But you would think that he was a sinner. Im looking at the gains and the powwo powwows, im looking at the deals, the multibillion dollar commitments on the part of boeing and im starting to see, you know, theres some good going on. Well, im glad youre reporting it because its not being reported in a lot of other places. Its very simplistic. The market was dead a couple years and got very surprised on november 9th. We went from Hillary Clinton and possible democrats getting the senate, which would have meant Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders to what were getting now doddfrank going byebye and lower taxes for corporations and the consumer, which without a doubt is better for the economy. So youre seeing economic stocks doing well. Its great to see. I have to tell you, its amazing to me how it doesnt stop. We just broke out again in the financials. As far as the nasdaq goes, were talking in fuego right now, my friend. And i should point out, ethan, markets go up and down. So we should always put that with a giant caveat. That and the other deals and the job commitments the president has made, something is stirring the pot here. What do you see . Its definitely a combination of deregulations and a combination of the people that voted for him and generally people in america. Certain populations that feels better. I was talking to a longtime viewer of the show. Pan schneider. Shes in the middle of kansas. Shes been talking to me via facebook. She was telling me how he feels like someone that they can relate to. A president of the people. They feel more secure. In turn, people feel better where their jobs will be, where their finances will be in the next year or two. The thing is, we have to make sure that he is holding taking them to task and making sure the jobs happen and continuation of this rally. We cant just say, you know, throw our hands up and say good times are here. We have to continue to take him to task. Markets can get ahead of themselves and ceos can lie. Youre right. Lindsey, one of the things im wondering about is whether this friction i know friction and conflict sells in news, all news. But it seems disproportionate with this president. A lot of it is of his own doing. He welcomes it and invites it and has fun with it. But it could bite him. What he does could be in a vacuum and trying to balance it out and try to present the good and the bad and in between, he might not get that. As a result, they will be focused on what is stopping him than rather what is motivating him. Im sure that can have an impact on the market. He in his own reputation. But i think in general when you look at the market, theres a lot of great policies that can do great things for corporate america. The consumer in general. Just like the other guests have spoke about. I think what the market in general, which is up 10 since election day is ignoring is some of the negative impacts that could come from his policies on trade, immigration. Even on healthcare. We still dont know how those things are going to pan out. Neil again, lets see how that goes. Thank you, guys. The market up today. Again, were going to balance it out, the good and the bad. No one is a saint. No one as far as i can see is a sinner either. By the way, the president was getting criticized over a dustup with a particular jewish reporter. What have i told you . The reporter himself doesnt think that criticism is fair. We understand why this is so hurtful for him. To see himself being called an anti semite. I should take a closer look at geico. You know, geico can help you save money on your Homeowners Insurance too . Great geico can help insure our mountain chalet how long have we been sawing this log . Um, one hundred and fourteen years. Man i thought my arm would be a lot more jacked by now. Im not even sure this is real wood. Theres no butter in this churn. Do my tris look okay . Take a closer look at geico. Great savings. And a whole lot more. vo have to happen . Idnt i didnt see it. vo what if we could go back . What if our car. Could stop itself . In iihs frontend crash prevention testing, nobody beats the subaru impreza. Not toyota. Not honda. Not ford. The allnew subaru impreza. More than a car, its a subaru. I have agerelated maculare degeneration, amd, he told me to look at this grid every day. And we came up with a plan to help reduce my risk of progression, including Preservision Areds 2. My doctor said Preservision Areds 2 has the exact nutrient formula the National Eye Institute recommends to help reduce the risk of progression of moderate to advanced amd after 15 years of clinical studies. Preservision areds 2. Because my eyes are everything. There are people that are committing antisemitic acts you said it was an easy question. Its not a fair question. I understand the rest of your question. Neil that was one of those magic moments. But the president going after that reporter. Papers were ripping the president over the treatment of him. But the reporter was defending the president. Look at this. Hes done an unprecedented amount of outreach with the orthodox community. We understand why this is so hurtful for him, to see him being called an anti semite when this when you dont believe it. Not just i dont believe it. Ive seen him first hand. Theres my point is you feel its unfair. Its very unfair whats been done to him and i understand why hes so defensive. Im with him when it comes to being outraged about him being charged with this antisemitism. Neil all right. Ed henry interviewed him last night. And ed, i didnt see that one coming. Were you surprised . I was surprised. Heres why. I think there were a lot of people in the media that assume wrongly that since jake is a reporter from an Orthodox Jewish weekly in brooklyn that he would be against donald trump and believe the allegations that have been out there that donald trump somehow is antisemitic. I think frankly, not just the media but donald trump himself misunderstood the question a bit. Maybe because of the way it was presented. Thats what jake was trying to tell me when i filled in for Tucker Carlson last night. He said look, his question was, i know you, mr. Trump, that he covered him in new york before he was president. Number 1. Number 2, he pointed out correctly that the president s soninlaw, jared, and his daughter that is converted, ivanka, that theyre jewish and he has jewish grandchildren. He was honoring that in his premise of the question. But he was trying to say i think these allegations are unfair but what is your administration doing about this uptick of antisemitism, synagogues getting bomb threats. Look how the president reacted. He thought maybe the reporter was connecting the dots as other critics have and saying theres this uptick because of you, because of your supporters. In fact, the reporter when we sat down and interviewed him, not a lot of people did, it turns out hes saying im trying to defend the president because i dont see antisemitism here. Its something a lot of people are not listening to. He got the president s attention in part because jake has his twitter handle on the front of his yamica. I have never heard of that. Make America Great again. Its an interesting premise. I thought immediately even the antisemitism criticism startup, i thought wait a minute. His soninlaw is jewish. His grandchildren are by extension because ivanka converted. Youd think that that was nonsensical. Then im looking at his cabinet. On the financial side dominated by prominent jewish americans. I tell you another neil you see the way the president reacted. I understand the president. But does he shoot from the hip too fast . Yeah. Two things. Youre right. In this case, the president has showed at least maybe he misheard it or misunderstood it. It shows how defensive the president is about him. Its annoying him, frustrating him. Hes tired of it. When a jewish reporter said i dont believe it, he didnt hear it all. The second point id make is, another important piece is what happened the day before when the president had another News Conference with the israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. He stood up before the world, not just the White House Press corps and said i know this man, i know what in his heart. The president is not an anti semite. Thats the president of israel. Thanks, ed. All right. Another still another antitrump protest. This one called strike for democracy. Isnt democracy how donald trump won this election. My insurance rates are probably gonna double. But dad, youve got. Allstate. With accident forgiveness they guarantee your rates wont go up just because of an accident. Smart kid. Indeed. Its good to be in, good hands. Why do so many businesses rely on the u. S. Postal service . Because when they ship with us, their business becomes our business. Thats why we make more ecommerce deliveries to homes than anyone else in the country. Here, there, everywhere. United States Postal Service priority you. Neil all right. You might have noticed a few establishments were shut down yesterday for employees skipping work, attending rallies and marches as part of a general strike to protest President Trumps policies. One joins us right know in chicago. Sandra, very good to have you. Hello, neil. Hi. Nice to be here. Neil what was your reason for being part of these protests . What are you protesting . Well, the reason that i came down today, i guess theres so many issues that i believe in fighting for. But it comes down i guess to an issue of integrity in a way. I really believe strongly that trump is not the best person to this country or the leader of the free world. Neil but he is, right . He was duly elected. Oh, im not disputing that he is. I dont feel that hes the best person and is promoting the best policies for the people of the country or for the world. Its up to me to stand up for what i believe in. In some ways because when i first arrived at the protests today in chicago at daily plaza, there were very few people there. I know that theres a lot of people that might have, you know, disagreements or differences with the trump administration. My real question is why arent that there . Neil a lot of them are working. They have to work, right . Yes, they do have to work. Absolutely. I was able to have time. Im very thankful to be able to have time to come today and not risk losing my job or neil can i ask you this . I understand your frustration. Many dont like donald trump but hes four weeks into this. Wouldnt you rather get a sense of what hes going to do and then protest versus kind of preprotesti preprotestin
