Democrats scrambling to rewrite the language after alexandria ocasiocortez came to tide of her embattled colleague. Now democrats want any reference to omar taken out of the resolution. Critics say the party is botching it big time. The former democratic Vice President ial nominee Joe Lieberman one of them. Well ask him. First to peter doocy. He has more on the fastmoving developments. Peter . Democrats were supposed to vote to condemn antisemitism today but they didnt have the votes. Its not clear that they will have for the rest of the week. This all started with comments made by the freshman democratic congresswoman ilhan omar. It seems like theres confusion among your colleagues. Are you antisemitic . Congresswoman, my only question. Would you support the resolution condemning bigotry and other forms of antisemitism . She kept quiet but her democratic colleagues had more to say. Because you have some members who either repeatedly or individually continue to use antisemitic tropes and giving them the benefit of the doubt unknowing, we have to educate people about how harmful and hurtful antisemitism is. Ed. Some other democrats are now trying to blame President Trump for a souring of the national discourse. The president tweeted this a little while ago. It is shameful that House Democrats wont take a stronger stand against antisemitism in their conference. Antisemitism has fueled atrocities throughout history and its shameful they wont act to condemn it. And democrat lee zeldin says the liedership cant come up with enough votes. This shouldnt be that hard. Should be very easy for all of us to stand united, bipartisan basis, condemning antisemitism, naming names and in my opinion, you need to remove ilhan omar from the house of Foreign Affairs committee. Its unclear if what they come up with will have enough support to bring to a vote. Charles . Thanks very much, peter. Were going to get reaction to all of this from former democrat Vice President ial nominee Joe Lieberman. Hes here in just a moment. First, this. Our capacity is already severely restrained. These increases will overwhelm the system entirely. This is not a manufactured crisis. This is truly an emergency. Department of Homeland Security secretary Kirstjen Nielsen with a dire warning for congress today. In an aftermath of a new report showing 76,000 Illegal Immigrants crossing the southern border last month. Mike emanuel has more. Good afternoon, charles. The Homeland Security secretary was put on the hot side about a tough trump immigration policy. Were aware the zero tolerance policy would lead to minors being separated. Yes or no. As we increase consequences for those that break the law i have limited time, madam secretary. Im sure as a consequence for a parent going to jail, why dont take the children to jail. And the president s announcement about a National Emergency at our southern border, a key democrat asked to see the information that secretary nielsen provided to the president. Members are congress are due classified information and theres a question of confidentiality or privilege. Its not i would say i would want the material that you had provided to the president of the minus to make his decision. There was a Senate Judiciary hearing today where lawmakers tried to drill down on the hot button immigration issues with the commissioner of customs and border protection. Texas senator ted cruz asked about the abuse of children. If a child is in the custody of human trafficker or a narcotics trafficker, how frequently are you encountering physical abuse or sexual abuse of the children in the custody of trackers . Its unfortunately very common. Officials say thats why the system needs to be changed in order to protect the most vulnerable being brought to this country. Charles . Thanks very much, mike. Mitch mcconnell already conceding the president s National Emergency measure will be voted down by the senate with a growing rift in the gop over this issue. I want to get more from senator from South Carolina tim scott. Great to have you on. We appreciate it. Do you support the president s National Emergency plan . 100 . This is the closest thing in common sense in washington d. C. Our nation is looking at a National Emergency hand we should support our act. The numbers are through the roof. We just saw last month one of the highest increases and frankly this fiscal year, five months into it, were at a level of 2018 for all of fy 2018. So five months compared to 12 months, were at the same numbers, this is an emergency. Its undeniable that anyone is paying attention to our southern border. Its interesting, senator. A lot of Media Outlets were using fiscal 17 numbers trying to ignore the jumps that occurred last year. To your point, this is becoming a greater crisis. Its hard to deny that. In your own party a lot of colleagues have an issue going this route. They weighed the need to address this against their worries that maybe that future president s may abuse the same ability. Charles, the pandoras box is already open. Anyone thinks that an inaction by this president will lead to an inaction by a democratic president , theyre listing in an alternate universe. Theres no question that the pandoras box has been opened. Heres what we do know. Congress, if we dont like the power that weve given the president , pull it back. Today we know the president s acting within his powers and hes acting within national interests. There is a crisis on the border. If we want to do the best we can for families coming to our border, were already working on ways for folks looking for asylum to do so in their own countries. We can have a very compassionate approach and protect our sovereign borders. Weve had four declared republicans that say they will vote against this. The number was 10 yesterday of potentials that might. This morning i read somewhere maybe its 15. Were lurching close to a 20 number. That would overturn the president s vetoes. Would be more than embarrassing. When you have conversations with fellow republicans on the fence or said theyre going to vote against this, how do those conversations go . Charles, the conversations fall one of two tranches. One is whether or not the president has the power to declare this emergency and should he. The second one is there another equation that gets him the money he needs. Heres what know. The president has the power, number 1. Number 2, there could be another scenario but that is being fought over. I dont believe theres six or seven senators to override a president ial veto. I dont think it will happen. Im confident that it cant happen in the house. So the entire conversation really is a nonstarter as relates to our powers to override the president s veto. Sir, before i let you go, i want to let you listen to an exchange i had with tom holman. Ice should be out there right now, nationwide operation, look for the family members that have had due process in front of a judge and ordered remove. They should excute those orders. They dont mean if they dont carry them out. So round people up . For people that have due process. Thats exactly what im saying. The democrats have a right to claim asylum, see a judge. I agree. Once you have seen the judge at great taxpayer expense, if that final order says you must go home, if that means nothing, if its not executed, theres no integrity in the system. Thats why they keep coming. No matter how the border issue is resolved, theres a big problem of immigration. How do we deal with the folks here, the daca kids. Any chance that that can be addressed . In order for us to address the issue of immigration, we have to solve the problem at the southern border. Youll see willingness on the side of the administration that weve seen in the last couple years. The president was willing to have the conversation about daca, the visa system. So it seems that the president has a strong desire as i do to address the issues of the Legal Immigration system to make sure that we have the work force of the future here in america. That has to happen after the prerequisite of dealing with the southern border is solved. Tim scott, an honor and pleasure. Thanks, charles. President trumps former Attorney Michael Cohen testifying on capitol hill earlier. He said he would make a statement. If he speaks, well bring that to you live. Democratic Congress Woman ilhan omar refusing to answer questions about what critics are calling her antisemitic remarks. You know who is talking . Former democratic Vice President ial nominee, Joe Lieberman and hes here. With all that usaa offers why go with anybody else . We know their rates are good, we know that theyre always going to take care of us. It was an instant savings and i should have changed a long time ago. Were the tenneys and were usaa members for life. Call usaa to start saving on insurance today. Its been a long time since andrew dusted off his dancing shoes. Luckily denture breath will be the least of his worries. Because he uses polident 4 in 1 cleaning system to kill 99. 99 of odor causing bacteria. Polident. Clean. Fresh. And confident. Of odor causing bacteria. We really pride ourselves ton making it easyautoglass, to get your windshield fixed. Teacher lets turn in your science papers. Tech vo this teacher always puts her students first. Student i did mine on volcanoes. Teacher you did . oh, i cant wait to read it. Tech vo so when she had auto glass damage. She chose safelite. With safelite, she could see exactly when wed be there. Teacher you must be pascal. Tech yes maam. Tech vo saving her time. [honk, honk] kids bye tech vo . So she can save the science project. Kids whoa kids vo safelite repair, safelite replace charles democrats divided over a resolution condemning antisemitism seen as a rebuke of democratic congresswoman ilhan omars controversial comments. A meeting with democrats behind closed doors turning contentious as new members confronted nancy pelosi and other leaders accusing them of rushing the resolution. So what this former democratic Vice President ial nominee Joe Lieberman thinks of this . He joins us now. An honor to have you. Thank you, charles. Charles this is worrisome. You have jumpstarts that just came to congress with chips on their shoulders. Its all playing out in the public and its very ugly. What are your thoughts about this . First thing is the words matter. When people say words that are biassed, bigoted and hurtful to another group of people, another group of americans, they have to be condemned quickly or else it takes hold. That not only think about antisemitism, racism, i think about any kind of bigotry to any religious group. I think this is a time of testing for the house of representatives. If i may, its really a moral test about how clearly they will speak out in this case against what congresswoman omar said, which was clearly antisemitic. Charles shes only been there a short period and its not the first time its come up. Thats true. Charles so nancy pelosi, steny hoyer, the leadership, feels like every day that this is delayed, the more they tweet this, the more it involves into somehow in my mind to water down or mitigate the damage that was done by this particular come woman, i think the more they fail your moral test. Thats why i think its important for the house to act and to act directly. It sounds like the resolution that theyre drafting now, which was originally against antisemitism, although clearly engendered by what congresswoman omar said is being broadened to be a statement against antimuslim bias. We should make that statement. But the house could do better. If it was up to me, id said put out a foundational resolution condemning all forms of bigotry and particularly saying if members of the house of representatives, elected members of congress get involved in that kind of bigotry, theyre going to be condemned by their colleagues that wont tolerate it. And then to pass another resolution if they want specifically condemning criticizing congresswoman omar for her antisemitic comments. Thats the best way to deter the next member of congress of either party that says something that is racist or homophobic or antiany religious group. Charles it feels like in washington d. C. That to borrow a boxing term, the que s queensberry rules, no hitting behind the head, that they vanished a long time ago. To watch them vanish within a Political Party where you have the jumpstarts who are very vocal about their feelings and they take to social media, its but nothing seems to be slowing them down. Their resolve only infact seems to grow greater and greater when theres push back against them. So these statements that i take to be bigoted or earlier ones made, congressman king said something that i thought was racist, theyre not acceptable. He was stripped of some committee seats, right . Yeah. Something specifically was done towards him. Incidentally Congress Woman omars statements dont represent anybody in office in the democratic party. If they is that right to mumble in response to her specific and clear antisemitic statement, the party itself is going to be held more broadly accountable for having similar feelings which i know they dont. So again, i said this is a moment of testing, moral testing. Speak clearly about it, make it clear that she went over the line and its unacceptable. You may it clear that the next personal that speaks bigotry that its untollable. Debby Wasserman Schultz said antisemitic tropes. Feels like theres a social justice movement, a sort of identity politics that is bubbling up and its going to play a major role in who will be the nominee for the party. It could get ugly. Where do you see this going right now . Right. In american politics our two great parties say what theyre about most clearly during the president ial nominating process. Thats what is happening now. Charles really . The narrative that they go to far to get the grass roots and find hair way to the middle to win the general election. The door is on in either party for every registered republican or democrat to come out, voters in primaries. Too often its that small socalled core constituency that has this proportion or influence. So you asked me about the democratic party. This is going to be a contest for the identity of the party once again. Look, i hope the Party Remains a center left party, which its been at its most successful. If it goes over and becomes a far left party, i dont think its going to be able to elect a president in 2020. Charles how do they avoid it . In other words who will be the leader that either tells the far left, which is a juggernaut, has the momentum, that at the very least wait . Lets not try to have a complete coup right now as we try to win this next election . Who is the person that can do this . We can see nancy pelosi is having a tough time dealing with yeah, im going to start with speaker pelosi. What is interesting to point out, and i was involved in trying to help this candidates, the democrats took back the house not because of the more left candidates but because of the centrist candidates that won in swing districts. So thats whats got to happen in the president ial primary as well. Trace thank you, senator. Were going to the white house. American ceos meeting with President Trump and ivanka trump. First to blake burman at the white house with the latest. Thank you for your devotion to the American Workers, our great workers. Nobody has workers like we do. I want to thank you. Great job. Really great job. [applause] she works very hard on this, i will say, and shes created a lot of happy families. Youre going to be up close to seven Million People soon. Youre very responsible along with many of the people at this table. Im going to ask, i think, for you, maybe before i speak, to go around the table. I thought you should take some of the credit for what youve done. Maybe id like to start with tim cook who has done an incredible job at apple. A friend of mine. Hes a friend because he does a great job. We want to get things done, employs so many people, brought a lot of money back in our country because of the new tax law. Hes spending that money wisely. Does an incredible job. Maybe you could start. Thank you, mr. President. Its an honor to serve on this council. Employment last year were people that did not have a fouryear degree. Were very proud of that. But we want to go further. So to that end, as weve looked at the sort of mismatch between the skills that are coming out of colleges and what the skills are that we believe we need in the future, many other businesses do, weve identified coding as a very key one. We believe strongly that it should be a requirement in the United States for every kid to have coding before they graduate from k12 and become proficient at it. We provided weve done a curriculum now and provided it to all schools in the United States. 4,000 have picked it up. Now, we have a lot further to go. Theres more than 4,000 schools in america. Thank you. I want to echo my appreciation for having the opportunity to serve on this board. Im excited about what is happening across this country. Iowa has the lowest Unemployment Rate in the nation at 2. 4 . Our economy is growing. Weve had four straight quarters of wage growth in iowa. We are no different than 0 thisser states. We have jobs looking for people. Im anxious Public Private partnership is the answer. We have an Initiative Future ready iowa that has a goal of having 70 of iowans in the work force to have education or training beyond his at 2025. Were 58 . Set the goals high . Right and work hard to get it. Were doing that through register apprenticeship programs and well be launching an initiative in Computer Science in elementary that will launch six Computer Science elementary in the United States so we can help produce a capable ready work force. Most importantly is to make sure that our students and iowans know that theres multiple paths to great careers and those careers exist in iowa. Thank you. Thank you. Kim just had a great victory. Governor of iowa. She just defeated somebody that spent unlimited money. Unlimited. Its called talent. Youve done a great job. Thank you. Great job. Mr. President , thank you nor the opportunity to be here today. Im from the city of charlotte. Were a city where we want everybody to participate in the economic opportunity. We are the second largest Banking Center now in the country. That may be good or bad. Nonetheless, when we look at that, we also have to weigh it against those that havent had a chance. This opportunity i think will provide us pathways, innovations, collaborations to accomplish that so that people left out can get in a great home, a place, safe place to live and a job that they can be proud of. Thank you. We have our Big Convention in your city, as you know. Were getting ready. A lot of people wanted it and you got it. Congratulations. See you soon. Mr. President , Sean Mcgarvey with the building trade union. I too want the thank you for the opportunity to work with terrific cochairs and cole leagues around this table and issues that are important to the building trades. I want to let you know that we made a commitment to you last year of 250,000 new apprentices the next five years. 56,000 of those last year were registered with the department of labor. So were following through on our commitment. Thank you. Thank you. Mr. President , jay box from the great state, great Common Wealth of kentucky. Representing 4. 3 Million People and more particularly representing the 16 comprehensive Community Colleges in our 73 campuses around the state. In kentucky, were committed to speeding the time to agree and credential because we know the work force needs us to turn out our workers faster. So we like to say instead of a career pathway, a career freeway with many on ramps and exit ramps so students can come into our institutions at any time and exit once they get a credential and right into the work force. Later on they can come back in for skilled further trainer. Mr. President , nice to see you. Im very pleased to be here. This project addresses itself to the two fundamental challenges that we face in the Business Community and in our society. That is people without jobs and massive numbers of jobs without people. I believe if the work that will take place here immediately just with people working with one another will add to the solution of both of those challenges. Thank you very much. Thank you, mr. President. Scott sanders, National Association of state work forcingforce agencies. We started talking with tom about how we can help across all the states, help the unemployed, underskilled and out of the work force and how do we get them back in and fill the 7. 3 million jobs. Honored to be here. Thank you. Mr. President , sherry utash, president of Wichita State university of applied sciences and technology in wichita, kansas. The air capitol of the world. Very happy to be here, very honored to be serving on this. Wonderful that we have this issue to deal with and to find solutions for. Thanks for your efforts towards that. Hope has a face. Its the face of our students. We know from education, from higher education, that we have to be innovative and disruptive in order to be in line and aligned with business and industry. So were doing a lot of that, hope to continue to do that and i can assure you from the twoyear sector along with dr. Bumpus, were doing everything yes can to create the work force of the future. Thank you very much. Mr. President , im mary Ann Wannamaker from the university of tennessee. We should be applauded for using federal data to solve our biggest challenges. This is one of those places where we have a lot of assets at our disposal. Im excited to help the board think through those issues. Thanks very much. Good afternoon, mr. President. Good to see you again. It was about a year ago when we were here with the expanding Apprenticeship Task force. The administration should be applauded and commended for the focus and spotlight that you put on this very important issue. I would be remiss as i think all of my colleagues would be if we didnt also commend ivanka and secretary ross for their leadership that they provided who i think will be outstanding work that were going to do together. Thank you for your leadership, sir. Thanks very much. Governor . Mr. President , let me pile on the praise for your administration and the entire administration for that matter, just laser focus on this topic. Its going to whether we like it or not, its going to define our nation, going to define our states, our organizations and companies and the legacy that we leave behind us when we get this right. So i want to express another debt of gratitude for trusting us last year, your administration, the department of labor granted us a waiver that enabled us to cut our Work Force Council in the state of indiana about in half. It allowed us to operate at the speed of this table and the businesses around it. That has made all the difference in the world. So if you continue to trust us, the states, to own it and to prove it, we will show america what works and what doesnt. That will take us to the next level. Thats great. Thank you. Great. Mr. President , i want to tell you how honored i am to serve on this board and to commend you and your administration for your focus on getting American Workers prepared for the future advanced economy that were in. Its not just about todays mismatch and things that we work on but getting us prepared for continued economic growth. What you done to enable us to with tax reform, Regulatory Reform has helped us to reinvest in our businesses, reinvest in our work force and we thank you for that and commend you for that. Thank you. Thank youll. How is the f35 doing . Doing great, sir. Charles youve been watching the president and the advisory board, a mix of top level ceos and representatives from several states all talking about working together and to even help the economy more. I want to go back to blake burman who is at the white house with more on this. Blake . What youve been watching here is the first gathering of the American Work force policy board. This is about two dozen or so members. State and local government, but also some of the biggest ceos in this country seated directly to the right of President Trump. The first person we heard speak, tim cook. Also in the room there, the ceos of visa, home depot, ibm. What theyre talking about right now is Work Force Development. You heard some of the issues that they have been discussing. Were watching the president speak with them now. This group has been meeting the last couple hours. Data transparency is one thing. If youre looking for a job, making sure you have the best available data at your finger tips. Also, trying to modernize candidate recruitment. This is a part of the Work Force Development push and change that this administration has been a part of. Charles thanks very much. Lets go to bill simon, former walmart ceo, on this and other developments in our economy. Thanks for joining us, bill. Hi, charles. How are you . Charles i dont know if you listened at the beginning when tim cook began to speak. I thought he was remarkable. He talked about a College Degree not being the thing that you have to have in this country. Half of the folks last year didnt have a College Degree. This is like music to the ears of a lot of americans out there. Are you sensing this same sort of shift as well . I am. I also heard tim say that he propose every k12 student have a coding experience. I think thats terrific. Id still be in the 11th grade if that were the case. But lets move on from there. Its the right thing to do. Thats what needed in the economy today. College isnt that experience, that traditional Fouryear College experience isnt right for everybody. The economy is in the shape that we can find ways to deliver that specialized training that is necessary to be really effective in the work force maybe without a traditional fouryear degree. I really do applaud what hes saying. The ceo of ibm is in the room and she coined the term new collar, not white or blue collar. Were seeing wages going for the first time for lower skilled 0 nonsupervisor workers faster than supervisor workers. Were going to get data friday that may suggest that that continues. So this is something that i think people have given up on. Yeah, i think youre right. You know, from a very early age, you know, young people have experience with technology. Theyre able to learn and do things that and learn in a completely different want they the traditional k12 and fouryear College Degree. I think its incumbent on companies and educators to figure out how to reach these kids and reach the new generation and develop the new work force. So i applaud what theyre doing today. My 6yearold granddaughter can do things with my cell phone i have no clue how she does it, how she gets to these places and she does its with relative ease. Before i let you go, a lot of retailers reporting earnings. Better than anyone anticipated. Folks thought the American Consumer was tapped out. Maybe thats not the case. Where are we right now with this economy and the u. S. Consumer . The consumer is strong, very strong. All the indicators remain in place. Gas prices are low, wage growth is in place. Were seeing very low unemployment. Everything is right for the consumer. You have a lot of politicians screaming doom and gloom. Theyre doing that for political reasons than economic reasons. The economy is strong and the consumer will carry it through this year. Bill a pleasure. Thank you. Thanks, charles. Charles so is kim jongun back at it . New Satellite Photos suggesting that north korea is rebuilding a launch site days after President Trump walked away from those nuclear talks. So how is the white house responding . Were on it. Michael cohen says he will be making a statement before he leaves capitol hill today. When he does, we will be there. oh ozempic® announcer people with type 2 diabetes are excited about the potential of onceweekly ozempic®. Charles Michael Cohen back on capitol hill for closed door testimony. Hes expected to make remarks and well bring them live to you. I understand that cohen turned over a number of large documents. What are you hearing . Charles, what we were able to confirm through two separate sources is that Michael Cohen brought records with him that show edits by the president s attorneys. These are records that have to do with his congressional testimony about this 2016 moscow trump tower real estate project. One of our contacts report that the original date is january 2016. That is important because it undercuts claims that cohen was directed by the president or his lawyers edited the congressional testimony to make that date in january when in fact the talks continued for months longer. The reason that matters is because Robert Mueller prosecuted cohen over this particular lie to congress. There this was key piece of testimony from the public hearing with cohen last week. This is a pretty breathtaking claim. I just want to get to the facts here. Which specific lawyers reviewed and edited your statement to congress on the moscow tower negotiations and did they make any changes to your statement . There were changes made, additions. Jay sekulow, for one. So the other issue that theyre drilling down on today, charles, is this guy felix sater. Hes important because hes a russianborn business associate. He was part of the Marketing Team with cohen for the 2016 trump tower project and hes going to be up here on the hill march 14 for public testimony on this particular issue. But again, what we learned through our reporting today is that cohen brought records about his Congressional Team but this key date, january 2016 is in cohens original draft. That would indicate it was his idea or he initiated making a false statement on the timeline. Charles that is a bomb shell. A member of the House Intel Committee joins us now. Congressman, i hope that we get all of this information out but this latest piece of information, again, Michael Cohen says hes an admitted liar but doesnt do his testimony at all, does it . Not a lot. Of course, everything that mr. Cohen says you have to look through the prism of is he telling us the truth . You have to look at other statements from other witnesses, other information you do have. As you know, i cant speak specifically about what we learned today. It was an executive session. It was classified. Ill make this point, this is the most important thing ill say to you. Do you think after 15 months of a Republican House investigation, 24 months at a senate investigation, the Mueller Investigation, hundreds of reporters looking for investigation, we think mr. Cohen will come in and day four tell us something that changes the narrative on collusion or conspiracy or obstruction . That just hasnt happened. That cant be a surprise to people. Yet, your democratic colleagues are prepared to go again with another major investigation, releasing 81 names that right now requests for information, ultimately could be subpoenas for information. America appears to be very fatigued with these things, particularly in the Mueller Report comes up a dry well, do you have these conversations with the democrats that you are that you have good relationships . To understand when will you start to see more perhaps legislation and not investigations on capitol hill . Well, i have had some of those conversations. Their base just hates this president so much. They cant turn away from that. They cant disappoint them. Look, they do at some point have to let it go. They have to do something other than this. Theres two other points. Number 1, youre right. People are not only tired by this but exhausted by it. Theyve heard it for two years. They say for what . What have you done for that that we would be troubled by it . The second thing is this. Because they dont find evidence of obstruction or collusion or conspiracy . Then they just blindly say well, lets go look at finances then. Maybe well find something about finances. A lot of people feel like i do. Thats just fundamentally unfair. Theres no accusation of a crime or wrong doing. Nobody is accusing the president or his this president of any financial crime. Theyre indicating hundreds of subpoenas or witnesses that theyll call and people ask why . On what basis are you doing that . The president calls it president ial harassment. I do want to ask your thoughts on the Mueller Investigation once its wrapped up on whether or not to what degree the American Public should be able to see that . Yeah, you know, i may be a little outlier on this. I hope every word is revealed to the American People. I hope theres not a redacted sentence or program for two reasons. Number 1, this truly is a National Security. Were not talking about Nuclear Codes or sources or methods. If theres a single paragraph redacted, the conspiracy theorists will say see, its the collusion there. Mr. Mueller didnt find evidence of collusion but its hidden in the redacted sentences. I think we should tell the American People, release it all. I dont think theres anything there terribly embarrassing to the president. Think things that are embarrassing he will have to explain. Im fairly confident theres no collusion or conspiracy. We have to set that on the table and put it aside so the American People dont spend two years like with john f. Kennedy wondering, what else is there that we dont know about. Charles thanks, representative stewart. I appreciate it. Thank you. Charles lets go to a. B. Stoddard on the political fallout from this. Thanks for joining us. The story has changed every day. Where are we right now with respect to the potential political fallout . I ask you that because some of the recent poll numbers in the midst of this for President Trump has been going higher. Right. His Approval Rating the higher. The number of americans who want impeachment is not even close to majority. So Strong Majority of americans dont want to see impeachment proceedings. The number of americans that believe the crimes that might have been committed before office is high. Its 45 in a quinnipiac poll. The desire to see investigations is a majority. So this is a mixed result. I think democrats feel after two years of no oversight of the administration that they are growing to go into areas that may not be revealed in a Mueller Report that unlike the recommendation of congressman stewart may not be revealed in full. So thats why you see a continued effort to dismiss impeachment. Still with oversight hearings. Charles the same token, the democrats spent time and effort to bolster the Mueller Investigation. They praised mueller, his career, his credentials, his integrity. They made a lot of bets on this being that they would find this is the smoking gun. And now perhaps its going to be a dry hole, particularly with collusion with russia, what is the justification for going down all of these 0 her rabbit holes . The justification is that Michael Cohen has revealed to us through his sbny investigation, which is not the mueller probe, that the president was working on a trump tower moscow project with which he needed the permission and help and active involvement of the president of russia. He was doing that during the campaign, lying about it to the American People, continued to lie about it and that Vladimir Putin knew he was lying to us about it. So if he committed financial crimes as a businessman involving russian money, that would make him compromised or beholden to an adversary government. That is a material finding that they have to come up with something or theyre going to risk a boomerang. But theyre taking that risk because they believe that those questions are relevant. Charles meantime, at this very moment, the president is at the white house. Hes convening advisory committee. Top folks talking about how to bring jobs back. We have a jobs report friday that gets you another 200,000 jobs created. We have these parallels. The president is working towards the economy, rebuilding america and the democrats are soly focused on bringing the president down and going as far back as possible. Im having trouble trying to understand why they think ultimately thats a smart political move when history also suggests and you know better than anybody else, this quasi impeachment, even though they wont say it, its there anyway. Doesnt necessarily help them. Right. 81 subpoenas or lists for inquiries is a lot. They didnt do do ten at a time. They went for dramatics, shock and awe. Theyre taking risk here that they overreach. Thats a risk theyre willing to take. You know the house is controlled by the democrats, not the senate, charles. So all the things they pass are unlikely to make to it the senate or the president s desk anyway. Theyre trying to pass a Good Governance bill that Mitch Mcconnell has no interest in and they pass background checks. So theyre going to be doing both. Thats a risk charles President Trump is making some comments on immigration. Lets take a listen. So we want to have the Companies Grow and the only way theyll grow is if we give them the workers. The only way well have the workers to do what were doing. Thank you very much. [question inaudible] thank you very much. Charles a. B. All right. A. B. , you still with us . Yep. Charles weve just got the tail end of that. President trump talking about the need for workers. Even though in the state of the union he talked about immigration, Legal Immigration, its unfortunate that so many people, particularly in the media, conflate illegal and Legal Immigration. Your thoughts on this, border wall fight and the thoughts of capitol hill resolving this issue altogether. The president indicated in the state of the union he was willing to increase the numbers considerably of Legal Immigration and he would like to see some kind of resolution on this front. Its clear from the administration that they want the Border Security component to happen first. Thats why he shut the government down over it and he didnt like the amount that they settled on, so hes redirecting some funds and hes declared an emergency. That vote in the Senate Next Week will be tough but the president will prevail and veto it. Some republicans will join the democrats because of power sharing and the congress has the power of the purse. So he will go on and we are waiting to see if he prevails in court. Its likely he will. The 1976 statute, charles, is so broad, it likely permits him to do this. Well have to see once hes declared the emergency and gets the wall going, is there time between the legislating calendar of 2019 and the Campaign Calendar of 2020 to actually come together on a big comprehensive deal. Thats looking tough. Charles a. B. , thanks very much. I appreciate it. Thanks. Charles news for you hear. Sheriffs office says the r. Kelly has been taken into custody over a hearing over unpaid child support. Well go to matt finn with the very latest. Charles right now r. Kellys spokesperson is talking to the media. R. Kelly came to court expecting to leave but he didnt come up with the 160,000 that he owed in child support, so he was taken into custody according to the spokesperson and will be transported back to the jail where he spent three nights. Documents indicate that he owes in excess of 200,000 in child support. A judge ordered him to pay 161,000 by 10 00 a. M. Because this case is sealed, we dont know if he made any type of payment. The attorneys have not been talking to us. He spent at least an hour in the courtroom behind us. It was closed to all press and anyone in the public and apparently r. Kelly was taken into custody by deputies here and he will be going back to jail, charles. Charles thanks, matt. Folks, well be right back. Charles National Security advisor john bolton threatening to ramp up sanctions on north korea of the new satellite images appear to show the country rebuilding a Missile Launch site. Jennifer griffin with the details. Experts say this north korean launch pad had been dormant since august. Following the first summit between President Trump and kim jong un. President trump just responded earlier to new reports of apparent activity at a north korean ballistic Missile Launch pad. President trump i would be very disappointed if that were happening. Its a very early reports. We are the ones who put it out. I would be very, very disappointed in chairman kim, and i dont think i will be, but well see what happens. Well take a look. It will ultimately get solved. New satellite images taken two days after the vietnam summit failed show activity in a north korean launch pad, according to two washington think tanks. Cranes and new construction appear at the launch site where north korea has put satellites into space using Technology Similar to that needed for Ballistic Missiles. This north korean launchpad have been dormant since august, following the first summit between President Trump and kim jong un. North korea has never launched an intercontinental Ballistic Missile from the site and experts say the activity happening now, while unfortunate, only shows construction going on, not anything that would indicate test prep. National security advisor john bolton said there could be more sanctions if kim does not comply. Charles jennifer, thank you very much. Thats it for me for today.
