Police release the name of the man who led police on an Early Morning chase that ended with an officer crashing his cruiser. The chase unfolded around 2 00 this morning. And soon after the pursuit ended with the suspect crashing his motorcycle and a Des Moines Police officer crashing his patrol car as well Near Northeast 51st court and northeast 30th place, just north of Copper Creek Golf Course in pleasant hill. Police now tell us that this man, 29yearold jordan young faces several charges including Second Degree theft, eluding, operating while intoxicated, and driving without a license. Police say they were pursuing jordan when he lost control. The des moines officer also crashed his car and his car had to be towed from the scene. The officer was not injured but was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Jordan was not hurt and is now in the polk county jail. Bond was set at just over 10,000. New at noon, a des moines mother is charged with child endangerment after an incident monday in a Grocery Store parking lot. Thats when 28yearold shauna davis was arrested at the hyvee store parking lot on southeast 14th. Police had responded to a call of a child in need of assistance. A witness told police she saw davis hitting her child. Davis denied the claims, but officers at the scene said the toddler told them, quote, mama hurt, mama hurt, and was rubbing his head saying, head hurt. The boy was taken to blank Childrens Hospital to be checked out. Davis is being held in the polk county jail pending bail of 5,000. The jury in the pete polson trial is back for a third day of deliberations. Polson is charged with 9 counts including attempted murder in a shooting spree last year in pleasant hill. He says he was high on meth and didnt know what he was doing. Legal experts say its the intoxication defense that may have stumped jurors. Mark mitchell is one of the three victims who has been waiting at the courthouse to hear the decision. Hasnt been a verdict but is trying to not too much into it. There is a lot of evidence.
