It shows officer Jason Van Dyke shooting 17yearold Laquan Mcdonald 16 times. The officer was charged with murder tuesday morning, and remains in jail. And overnight, protests in minneapolis continued for a ninth straight night. Theyre demanding justice for the shooting death of jamar clark, by Minneapolis Police earlier this month. Prosecutors say a grand jury will decide whether to charge the officers involved, with any crimes. Meanwhile, police are holding three men who are accused of shooting at protesters monday night. A kcci exclusive now, a sergeant with the missouri Highway Patrol says its the agencys negligence that killed clive native Brandon Ellingson. Back in may 2014, 20yearold ellingson was in handcuffs in Police Custody when he went overboard on a patrol boat and drowned. Former water patrol supervisor sgt. Randy henry tells kcci, the Highway Patrol is at fault, but has been trying to silence his sgt. Henry says the Highway Patrol hid key evidence during a coroners inquest. And that the trooper that arrested ellingson, anthony piercy, should be facing criminal charges. Should someone have faced criminal charges for what happened on the lake that day . Yes, i believe so. Perezs family tells kcci she leaves behind four children. Mure is at the polk county jail this morning, charged with vehicular homicide by reckless driving, vehicular homicide by operating while intoxicated, and owi. M. , and the Higher Elevations there were expected to get anywhere from 12 to 22 inches through this morning. The snow is making driving conditions there very dangerous, several crashes and rollovers were reported, prompting officials to issue travel restrictions in Northern California and nevada. Most of the area is under a winter storm warning until later this morning. And there are about 40,000 people still without power right now in spokane, washington. Nearly 200,000 people there lost power last tuesday after a storm brought hurricanestrength wind gusts and knocked down dozens of power lines.
