Reporter Denver Police releasing little about what actually spurred the chase. We do know this man was doing everything he could to avoid arrest. He ran and careened into a light pole, flipped his car and landed on the other side of 50th. It flying down washington in his suv. A store clerk said sparks were flying from a rim. The driver lost control and it flipped just as it was passing the gas station. The manager was standing outside watching the scene, and he says the man jumped out of the wrecked car against Police Orders and ran straight towards him. I told him, go away. I dont want you here. Go. He is running empty handed, so i wasnt worried about any kind of weapons. And holding up in the store or attacking me or anything else. It was just get away. Reporter we also know there was a passenger in the car with the suspect. That passenger was seriously injured and transported to the hospital, but the police are still looking for the suspect. He is described as a black male, in his 20s, about sings feet tall, six feet tall and he possibly didnt have any shoes are. The police are still actively investigating this follow this story. Hurricane matthew, it is a category three hurricane, now moving parallel to the shoreline heading north up the Atlantic Coast that means churning seas, heavy rain and a lot of wind like you see here. States of emergency are in effect as it gets closer to the large metropolitan area of jacksonville. Cbss marlee hall reports. With its 120mileperhour winds is lashing floridas Atlantic Coast. The storm is bringing heavy rain and flooding tides to the northern half of the state. This is still a really dangerous hurricane that the potential for storm surge, flooding, loss of life and severe Property Damage continues to exist. Reporter more than half a Million People are without power after wind gusts approached 100 Miles Per Hour overnight. It is really important that quickly as we can. Reporter matthews eye is just offshore and moving parallel to the coast, meaning the powerful winds of the eye wall could impact hundreds of miles of shoreline while the stormss flue flooding storms flooding rains move inland. Matthew is already a killer. In haiti, hit hard by the storm earlier this week, the death toll is approaching 500. Here in florida, damage south of the storm, but forecasters say this may not be the last the state will see of matthew. St. Simons island is virtually deserted. The governor of South Carolina is also concerned about matthew, concerned concerns getting stronger as the storm is moving north. They are urging people to evacuate there along the coast. We are looking at major storm surges. Which could be flood like, what we saw last year, and you know when you have that, you have a lot of falling trees. So there is nothing safe about what is getting ready to happen. And our meteorologist in colorados Weather Center right now. She has an update on matthews track. Lets go to her. You can see we do have that hurricane. It is in northern florida right now. It is bringing some really heavy rainfall to this area. It is a category three right now. Rainfall in parts of georgia, up into the carolinas. Following its track, it is going to make its way toward the carolinas and georgia tonight and through tomorrow morning, and it does start to curve its way back out to the atlantic ocean. It will start to weaken as well. It could loop its way back in, but it will be a much weaker storm system. Still, a major hurricane in northern florida right now. Heavy rain and storm surge is deadliest part of a hurricane. Flooding will be a huge concern and some other Severe Weather in terms of tornadoes. Again, the winds are still very vicious. Back to you.
