Abc7 news starts right now with live, breaking news. That breaking news is out of milwaukee, wisconsin, where violence erupted after police shot and killed an armed man. A scuffle broke out at the scene of the crime while investigators were still gathering evidence. Later, rioters set fire to vehicles and at least four businesses, including a gas station, a bank, and a grocery store. One officer was injured by a brick thrown through a patrol car window. There have been reports of gunfire in the area. Police increased patrols because the neighborhood saw five homicides in nine hours last night. Were following developing news out of hayward after officers shot a person after he ran his vehicle injuring into officers. Lisa . Reporter eric, police just briefed me on a very complicated crime scene which started just two miles from here. We have an active shooting scene here. Reporter this is the call for help that went out haywa hayward. A stolen mercedes had been spotted. When police arrived, two men were in the car and wouldnt get out, when the suspect put it in drive. He was ramming multiple police vehicles, hit an officer on foot. At that point, officers discharged their weapon, obviously in defense of their own lives, and that of others. And the vehicle continued to flee the scene and then struck an additional two vehicles after that exchange. Reporter the driver of the stolen car drove along patrick and finally came to a stop at gomer. Thats when the passenger made a run for it but Police Chased him down. The driver had been hit by a bullet. He is in the hospital in Critical Condition at this hour. Two officers were hurt but did not go to the hospital. Police tonight are not saying if the suspects exchanged gunfire and not saying exactly how many shots were fired by police. Lisa, thank you. The brother of an aspiring chef found dead at the westfield mall in San Francisco says he was at the mall to buy jeans and possibly see a movie. Those new details come from a woman he was dating. A Maintenance Worker found his body wednesday morning. Police are calling his death a homicide but have not made any arrests. Police boosted their efforts to find a gunman who killed a young man. Thats about the time they say that calvin was shot at that walkway last saturday night. Calvin rileys parents joined u. S. Park police for tonights canvassing effort. Officers passed out flyers hoping to focus further attention on this case. Riley was shot to death while playing pokemon go here with a friend last saturday night. A small memorial has been set up in his honor. Police have not released many details on this case. They hoped Surveillance Video in the area might give clus about the shooter. Now, investigators are looking for any images shot between 9 00 and 11 00 p. M. Including selfies. That would be critical if somebody captured something that could lead to someone being arrested. We are very interested in any material. Reporter this is an area thats turned into a popular place for people playing pokemon go. Willie hong showed me why so many people come here. The chp is searching for a man who ran away from a car crash that impaled his passenger. It happened just outside petaluma this morning. Witnesses say the car went airborne, flipped over and came down on a metal fence. The driver ran away with a woman pinned in the front seat with a section of the fence going through her. I had the worst expectation and it was what i expected. Without climbing in too far to see, you could see it was going right through her midsection and she couldnt move. Rescuers cut both ends of the fence to get the woman out. She was conscious the whole time. There are new details on the 100 pound tree limb that fell and hit a woman on the head. A wildfire forced people out of their homes in lake county tonight. It started at about 6 00 this evening near highway 9. Homes in ellen springs and Clayton Creek have been evacuated. The fire has burned 600 acres. Its only 15 contained. Tomorrow, highway 1 near big sur will be closed because of a fire thats destroyed 57 homes. The closure begins at 2 00 p. M. And could last up to 24 hours, depending on the weather conditions. At least three people have died in record flooding in louisiana. But one woman survived in dramatic fashion. I almost died. Breaking news out of milwaukee, wisconsin, where there are new reports of a police car hit by gunfire after violent protests, looting, vandalism, and at least four buildings set on fire tonight. Riots broke out after police shot and killed an armed man who was running from officers this afternoon. One Police Officer is in the hospital after being hit in the head with a brick. Police have arrested at least three people. In mayward, a man is in Critical Condition after a man shot him. They say he was driving a stolen car and rammed several police cars. At least two officers were hurt. A News Reporter touring the record flooding in baton rouge, louisiana, captured an incredible rescue. A Good Samaritan pulled a woman out of her sinking car and saved her dog, as well. Rescue crews have saved more than 1,000 people from flood waters.
