We have actually monitored a couple of different groups, one in oakley and berkeley, and one tried to get onto a couple of different freeways tonight. This group of demonstrators headed towards the i90 ramps in downtown, but they were met with california patrol officers. They have been loud and fast moving, but much smaller than past nights. For some local Business Owners the demonstrations are putting them in a tough light. A lot of the demonstrators come from oakland, so just because the demonstrations stop, doesnt mean it wont affect us. Reporter customers often stay away for months after protests, on a typical saturday night his place would have been packed. Todays demonstrations around the bay area including oakland have been peaceful. In palo alto, a group of Hillary Clinton supporters held a candlelight vigil. And earlier they marched from the castro to city hall. It was the second demonstration of the bday, with others saying they support the rights. I know he will take away immigrants rights and many other groups of people, including women. At the restaurant in oakland, the demonstrations often pass by here. I would do anything for the city. In indianapolis, Police Arrested seven people after two officers were hurt by people throwing rocks at them. Officers arrested two in portland, and in oregons biggest city last night. And the largest donald trump protest to date in los angeles happened this afternoon with police saying 8,000 people filled the streets downtown. Demonstrators forced officers to shut down freeways on the off and on ramps. Demonstrators marched peacefully. Last night, Police Arrested about 187 people when a thousand people marched. But so in response to the election, we have work here to do at home. The chorus is now planning to tour the red states instead. Places like mississippi, alabama, and tennessee, and visit communities faced with discrimination. We want to go to those places that are still strongholds of this kind of discrimination and bigotry and bring our voice and encourage people with our music and also hopefully change some hearts and minds. The tour will begin before the summer of 2018, right before the midterm elections. Singing together has helped them heal, and these fears many feel about a trump presidency. The time is long over due that we here in pleasanton pay their proper respects to the men and women who defended us and our freedom. That memorial took two years to complete and cost 120,000, most of the money raised was from local veterans.
