Our live doppler 7ht is tracking moisture. It is up in the clouds and not hitting the ground yet. The atmosphere is moistening up. The radar will be watching the storms. The first one is getting closer to us. It has two parts. The first part arrives tomorrow morning during the commute and the second part tomorrow afternoon and the evening. We are looking at urban flooding thunderstorms and wind damage risk. It is a moderate possibility. The biggest thing is the hazardous driving conditions. Fridays storm number two is going to be just as strong. Tomorrow morning a few showers and really light though. 8 00 p. M. , San Francisco getting a little rain. By 10 00, 11 00 it is moving in and by 1 00 p. M. , the red showing up north of santa rosa, we may be talking about thunderstorms. The thunderstorm threat will continue into the afternoon and evening hours with the pockets of moderate to heavy rain and strong, gusty winds blowing the rain sideways. A complete look at how much rain we will get and when you will be able to put the umbrellas away. San mateo is one of many cities opening sandbag stations for the approaching storm. Crews have been placed on storm ready status 24 7 in case of flooding. It tends to be more of a react tiff. Maury more reactive. She is well aware that rain is on the way to the bay area. Theyemodeled remodeled their hoe in East Palo Alto, in the same neighborhood that flooded before. The creek over flowed its banks. It could take out peoples homes it is all people have. It is a beg deal. The last big flood was christmas on 2012. Dozens of homes were damaged. Not surprising considering 50 of all homes in East Palo Alto sit in a flood zone. Just be monitoring around the clock to make sure everything is okay. Community Development Director says the city is storm ready. Sandbags are available and the creek will be monitored for any signs of a flash flood. The challenge we have is the water coming down the creek and the city is coming from the santa cruz mountains, and it is hard to monitor everything that is occurring in the mountains. Reporter improvements have been made like these sandbags covered in con creek, but they are only a temporary fix m the real challenge will be rain versus tides. The tide comes in every six hours so if it coincides, then you have a problem. Neighbors hope it brings enough rain to help the drought, but not enough to flood their streets. A a person walking on 280 in daly city were killed. It happened at east more avenue around 6 30. The chp closed down three lanes as officers investigated the crash. No word on why that person was walking on 280. Asiana airlines will pay a fine after the response to the deadly crash. Here is why they were fined. It took the company 18 hours to set up a hotline for victims loved ones. Asiana took five days to contact the families of all 291 passengers. Overall the airline did not dedicate attention to passenger families. They insist they provided extensive support and will continue to do so.
