Abc7 News Reporter nick smith is live on the scene tonight with the very latest. Nick . Ama, as you can see, fire crews are still on the scene and looking for hotspots. Officials tell me the building was popular with squaters, and it is still not safe to go inside. A fire that started more than eight hours ago is still a problem and they dont know what caused it. When i was filming where part of the blaze was, you can see the glow of all of the heat distortion. It was a building that once housed a tv station and it took more than two hours to bring under control. At its peak more than 100 firefighters attacked this fire, so large thick plumes of smoke could be seen at Great American parkway off highway 101. There was debris flying toward me, so i turned away because it was hitting my face. I heard a collapse and something collapsed inside. What he heard was the roof collapse under its own weight. Fire Officials Say the plan to go inside and look for possible victims was stopped when flames and smoke drove them back. The Office Building is now a pile of melted steel and charred lumber. It was once it was to help rain firefighters, but most recently became popular with squaters. It appears they have been here for some time. According to captain Reggie Williams some went back to get their things when the fire started. We found people pulling things as large as motorcycles out of the rear of the building. Federal investigators are releasing information about the tour bus crash that killed 10 people on i5. Five teens, three adults and both drivers died when a fed ex truck crossed a 58foot wide median and slammed into the tour bus killing High School Students from Southern California bound for a tour to Humboldt State university campus. The bus driver hit the brakes and skid for 145 feet and then swerved to try to avoid the struck. Truck. There are no skidmarks indicating the trucks driver tried to brake and no evidence the truck was on fire before the impact. It is not just about the what, but the why. The why allows us to issue safety recommendations to prevent these crashes from happening in the future. Several of the 10 people who died were ejected from the bus. None were watering seatbelts. Friends and family say she is an excellent driver and are shocked she is gone. Investigators continue to piece together the crash, but they say it is clear the bus driver slammed the brakes and then tried to swerve to avoid the on coming fed ex truck. She grew up in the bay area. Back when we were young we used to play softball together. Reporter she says the Samoan Community in the bay area is pretty tight knit so they would see each other often. She is still surprised about the crash. First i saw it and went, wow, what a tragedy. She didnt have to die like that. Reporter before driving charter buses, she was a bus operator at san tran for years. One of her fellow drivers there says they used to call her tala for short. She was an excellent driver. In Southern California, an emotional cousin spoke fondly of her. She was nice, friendly, loved anybody. Reporter when the crash happened student miles hill was sitting directly behind her. I was in the front right behind the driver. I had a clear view of the truck. It was in perfect condition. The driver must have lost control or something. He is still recovering from the crash. He says flames were everywhere when the fed ex truck slammed into them. He tried to help fellow students inside and then managed to get out. He is one of the 48 students on board who were injured in the crash. 10 people were killed including the driver of the fed ex truck who has been identified as 32yearold tim evans of elk grove. We are hearing from a jogger who saw a missing woman before her mysterious death. The search teams found the body of 33yearold glenkowski yesterday. She was reported missing after not being seen at her home sense march since march 30th. The Marin County Sheriffs Office focused the area on the parking lot. A Security Camera captured this image in that lot. Her car was parked there as well. It is also near where a jogger saw someone matching her description. She was wearing shorts and she had her sweatshirt. She didnt have a backpack and she didnt look like she had water or anything. It didnt look like she was out for a long hike. They found no obvious signs of foul play. They are waiting for autopsy results to see how she died. Police arrested a woman in connection with a stabbing at a jack in the box on valley avenue in pleasanton. The suspect, jasmine vasquez, was seen on Surveillance Video and identified by witnesses. Police say she stabbed an employee multiple times before running away. The victim was taken to Eden Medical Center where he was treated and released. Vasquez was booked into santa rita jail for attempted murder. Pets on pot. Arizona vets are reporting an increasing number of dogs suffering ingest of marijuana. They treat 24 cases a month and the rise started when arizonas medical marijuana dispense res opened a couple years ago. Pets eating marijuana is usually not toxic, but the animals have died from eating the synthetic kind. A fearless feline is just fine tonight after getting stuck in a tree this afternoon. As we show you another live shot a lot of clear skies and it is urnt currently 51 in santa rosa and 50 in napa and some spots are in the upper 50s like concord and livermore at 57. And another view from emeryville looking out toward the bay bridge. Here is what you can expect. Clear and cool tonight. Overnight we will see a little bit of the clouds move in, but not much. So the warmer temperatures tomorrow. Breezy and cooler by tuesday. You will notice a significant change on tuesday and immediate week. Here is a pacific satellite image. We have a jet stream that keeps the storms to the north and we have a ridge providing a minor warming trend. And that will bring us numbers even warmer tomorrow. And a look at the forecast non mages animation shows cloud cover all along the coast tomorrow morning. It doesnt spell inland at all. This allows us to warm up even more so sunny and warmer with partly cloudy conditions just along the coast. Everywhere else is going to be quite clear. Overnight lows in the 40s to near 50 degrees. 50 in San Francisco and oakland and in san jose. Look for 48 in fremont, 47 in palo alto. Check out these highs for tomorrow. Again in san jose we will be about 7 degrees above average. Your high is 77. Morgan hill is 83 and even 84 in gilroy. On the peninsula look for low 70s from millbrae to san mateo to mid70s in palo alto and Mountain View and 64 along the coast in pacifica. Downtown San Francisco,68 degrees and that is 5 degrees above aoerage. In the north bay we will see low 80s as well through clear lake and calistoga and napa. In the east bay, mainly in the 70s, but they range from the low 70s to the upper 70s. So 72 in berkeley and 77 in hercules. Check out the tshirt and shorts weather.
