A lake county sheriffs deputy has been declared braindead after he was rescued from the waters off of point mendocino earlier this week. Deputy jacob steely and his 11yearold son were swept into the water by a rogue wave on monday. His son was rescued and survived that incident. Steely was found facedown in the water by firefighters, taken to a chico hospital. He spent a week in the icu. Steely will donate his organs. He has worked in Law Enforcement for nine years.
