The outbreak intensifying since the first case was reported two months ago. The universitys Health Services director saying, im more concerned now than i was during any time of the outbreak. School officials trying to get the outbreak under control, especially ahead of next months graduation ceremonies. All of the students sickened have been immunized against mumps but according to the cdc even after two doses of the vaccine 12 of people are still at risk for contracting the virus. Most people who get it is the typical viral illness with fever, body aches, fatigue and the tell tale sign of the mumps, the swelling of the face. After puberty, there are rare complications, hearing loss which can be permanent and even inflammation of the brain.
