Employees were wheeled into ambulances this afternoon. It could happen to anybody. Its so close. Reporter a total of 17 people with were exposed to a chemical called creigh yoe sol, a mild corrosive used as a sealant for childrens fillings. Of the 17, 5 adults and 2 children were transported to the hospital. We treated it as a hazmat exposure. We had a hazardous incident team. Reporter Officials Say employees noticed a strange odor coming from a cap being worn by a dentist. The dentist could smell it, others could smell it. Reporter upon investigation, employees discovered that a oneounce bottle of the chemical had somehow been knocked off onto a set of caps kept inside the same cabinet. Staff members called 911 and executed the centers evacuation plan. Patients and employees complained of issues with breathing as well as irritated skin. But late this afternoon, the San Jose Fire Department confirmed that none of the injuries were life threatening. This large incident is precautionary so we dont have the second exposure to hospitals or any other people. Reporter hazmat crews spent much the of the day decontaminating the center. They hope to be back open at 8 00 tomorrow morning. Sky7 hd was overhead in antioch today. Police say a man at a mcdonalds dri drivethrough started shooting into the restaurant. One person went to the hospital but will be okay. Police are still searching for the shooter. One witness tells abc 7 News Reporter Jonathan Bloom that shooting was a domestic dispute. A mother made an emotional plea today for help finding her sons killer. Alberto antenna was shot three years ago along grisly peak boulevard in the berkeley hills. Police say he was killed by a man after breaking up a fight between two strangers. Today uc berkeley realized a sketch of the suspect. Students and faculty at a normally quiet south bay college are battling over whether to arm security guards on their 12,000student campus. This is happening today at gave land college in gilroy. But two other Bay Area Community colleges are also considering having their Campus Security guards carry guns. Abc 7 News Reporter david louie is live at gat lan college where petitions are circulating. Reporter ama and larry, gat lan has had unarmed security guards on campus for many years, escorting students to cars or handling burglary reports. But nothing seems tranquil forever. Now the campus is abuzz debating whether an armed Deputy Sheriff should be hired to work during the day. We wanted the discussion to happen a long time ago not a week before the vote. Reporter its a short time frame. The College District trustees are set to vote next wednesday whether to hire an armed share to be on the campus, the cost 248,000, a figure an administrator doesnt dispute. And now students and faculty are debating whether they want this. Connor gowynn is a 29yearold student and veteran. They are the only deterrent if we have an active shooter on campus. Reporter jane is a fine arts chair. It could be a target for someone for an active shooter for someone that is of grave concern obviously. We want to protect our community the best we can. I just dont know if this is the right plan for it. Reporter gat lan is normally a quiet campus, but its become the equivalent of londons hyde park, a prevalence for free speech. I will be voting no on this item, and that is because our Student Senate has voted no. Right now we have a petition of over 350 signatures from students who are also opposed. Reporter no incident triggered the proposal to hire an armed deputy. They havent had recent sexual assaults or homicide. Two drug violations, one liquor violation and one weapons possessions incident since 2014. Burlingame police need your help in finding three men who robbed a popular dough naught shop early monday morning. It was a particularly violent confrontation and all caught on Surveillance Video. Abc 7 news anchor kristen sze now here with the footage. Larry and ama, this happened at the royal doughnut shop. Its locationed at the caltrain station a block from Burlingame High School and the burlingame avenue shopping district. Now were going to show you the Surveillance Video police just released. It all began when this man wearing black in the baseball cap comes in, mraiszs an order and then a warning. The video gets much more disturbing. Two accomplices come rushing in. The one in a gray sweatshirt jumps overthecounter and holds a gun to the clerks face as they argue. Meantime, the other two unplug the atm and carry it out the front door with an unknown amount of cash. Now, they did not take any money from the cash register. The robber in gray continues to attack the clerk. Look at this. At one point he tries to tie the clerk up with an apron. Then he beats the clerk with an ice scooper. Eventually the three robbers leave and the clerk is able to call police. He suffered facial injuries and was taken to the hospital but will be fine. You see the scooper right there, the ice scooper, as he leaves. Police say the only gun brandished at the scene was actually dropped. Well show you that. It turned out to be a fake. Theyre still looking for the trio. I just talked to police about a half hour ago. They say that is the case. If you have any information, please call burlingame police. Ama and larry . A Software Update yesterday had some people seeing red. People logged on to their account and saw a zero dollar balance. That will make you panic. Not only that, customers couldnt withdraw or deposit money. Union bank issued this statement saying, the issue has been resolved and customers can resume all banking activities. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. Facebook is paying out over 10,000 to a 10yearold boy from finland. That money is a reward after the little boy alerted the social media giant that they had a security flaw on instagram which is owned by facebook. Reports say the young hacker found he could delete other peoples comments on the photo sharing Service Using malicious code.
