Amtrak has confirmed to abc 7 news that a trespasser was hit and killed by the train when the actram train was five miles south of san jose. The victim hasnt been identified. No one on the train was injured. A dispondent man was shot and killed by officers yesterday evening in san jose. Today the police chief said they tried to negotiate with the man who was armed and tried to shoot himself. But officers were unable to get the man to drop his weapon. The chief said his officers fired when the man aimed that weapon at police. I think our officers used great judgment and were trying to deescalate the situation and in dealing with an individual who was it was obvious had some some mental issues. The officers involved in the shooting with currently on administrative leave. The mans family doesnt entirely agree with the chiefs account. A man arrested last week is connected to three separate incidents to starting fires to a shooting. Jessica castro has the details. Reporter Law Enforcement now putting together a criminal case against a 0yearold raul mario diaz. They think he is behind several attacks on the google campus in mountain view. In an affidavit obtained by abc 7 news, he waived his right to a lawyer and told police, quote, he felt google was watching him and that made him upset. He also reportedly told cops, quote, he kept journals of the times that he felt google had been watching him. Three separate incidents at three separate google buildings are being investigated by the bureau of alcohol, tobacco and firearms. First on may 19th when there was a fire near a google street vehicle where an employ claims to have seen a man throw molotov cocktails at the car and a small fire started nearby but didnt torch the vehicle. June 4th, shots fired in a google building. Broken glass and projectiles were found in the windows. June 10th, a selfdriving car was found on fire. The vehicle was destroyed. Fast forward to last week on june 30th when diaz spoke to police. That is when he gave them the statements about his fear of google watching him. But also reportedly admitted to the three attacks and also said he had planned to shoot into another google building but was stopped by police. According to the San FranciscoPolice Department, there were four felony arrests last night and 15 citations for sales without permits. Pbs is apologizing about a fireworks flap on the fourth of july special capital fourth. Despite overcast skies, viewers at home had a view of clear skies. Because of the bad weather, pbs included video from past years fireworks shows but it never told the audience that not all of the footage was live. A capital fourth treated an apology and said including video of previous years fireworks was the patriotic thing to do. A new lane configuration goes into effect on the Golden Gate Bridge.
