Were told the fire is under control, but theres lingering smoke in the building which could cause problems for patients. First and second floors have been evacuated. People on the third, fourth and fifth floors are sheltering in place. Patients are also being diverted to other area hospitals at this time. No injuries. An Armed Robbery caused a lockdown at schools in fremont today. Students were kept inside Kennedy High School and walters juninho high school as officers were investigating the Armed Robbery. Students in kennedy were released at their normal time. The six men accused in a string of east bay Home Invasion robberies appeared in court today. Abc 7 News ReporterMelanie Woodrow was in court for their arraignment which was moved. Melanie, whats going on here . Yeah, just moved over a couple of weeks. The family members of the six young men ranging in age from 18 to 20 years old were also in court. They did not want to speak on camera. The Contra Costa CountyDeputy District Attorney says the men are suspected swerve gang members. Thats a North Richmond gang. They are facing charges in connection with a string of Home Invasions in the east bay, including in danville, livermore and fremont. You can see some Surveillance Video there. The District Attorney prosecuting the case says that this Surveillance Video of a Home Invasion is a piece of critical evidence. Certainly its substantial evidence and significant evidence. It was something that we looked hat and considered when we filed the case. Its one piece of many in that case though. The arraignment was moved to later in october. One of the men that is a part of these six men that are accused in connection with these Home Invasions was receiving money from a somewhat controversial Richmond Program that pays individuals to turn their lives around. Carol brown is the Vice President of the Orinda School Board and was with her husband last week when they were both attacked in their driveway by two men who possibly followed them home. Brown was just released from the hospital. In a statement today, she said, quote, it saddens me that an incident like this happened in a neighborhood with small children who might feel anxious and afraid. Brown now faces eight to ten weeks of treatment and physical therapy. A morning commute mess. Southbound on the Golden Gate Bridge today. Take a look the chp tells us a truck driver making his first run through the toll plaza went through the wrong toll lane. A san jose man has been arrested for dui after the car that he was driving hit and killed a bicyclist.
