And, by the way, that child is now with protective childrens protective services. Its offices are here on otis street. Now, here is what we have learned so far. It happened last night shortly after 6 00. The couple who may be the parents left the child, who sources tell us is about 5 years old here at the rest stop at great highway and slope boulevard. The same sources tell us the couple is from arkansas and that there may be another child still with them. This has, of course, a lot of people around the beach talking about the abandonment. Everyone we spoke with spoke with anger and disbelief. You will now hear from two parents of small children. I cannot imagine how a parent could do that to their kid. Crazy. Maybe they have another child, the child saw that you dumped that baby, that child is like, what if im next. That makes my blood boil. No one ever should have endured that, that poor child. Reporter so, again, police are still searching for that couple. We can only presume that that 5yearold child is cooperating with police, is telling police a little about or as much as he can. We called our sister station, by the way, in arkansas to see if they received any missing childrens report. And they do monitor those reports around the state. They tell us they have not. Police say 42yearold leonid beker was driving the victim to oakland. He got into the back seat of the car and assaulted her. He was arrested later at his home in San Francisco. Three people were killed during a gun battle inside a fresno home this morning. A fourth person is expected to survive. Fresnos police chief says two men barged into the home at 8 00 and exchanged gun fire with two of the residents. One of the residents was armed with an ar15 rifle. That gun battle continued outside the house. The surviving victim was a 30yearold resident of the house. Police are investigating whether this incident is gangrelated. And we have new details on the case of the australian durit outside a San Francisco hotel last friday. Today 34yearold david ma ril owe was assigned or a rained, i should say, for the death of 33yearold matthew base. Ma ril owe pleaded not guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter, assault and battery. The District Attorney says both men were out, they were drinking, they got into an argument. He punched him who fell down the hotel stairs and that is what caused his death. The two men charged in the deadly ghost ship fire are both behind fires, but so far only one is in custody here in the bay area.
