Lets take you live to the hall of justice in san jose. Thats where the verdict will come down in a few hours at 9 00 this morning. Antolin garciatorres is charged with first degree murder. If hes found guilty he faces the Death Penalty. The prosecution says dna evidence on her clothes proves Garcia Torrez murdered her. The defense argues the dna evidence is flawed and since lamars body has not been found this is nothing more than a missing persons case. Lets give you a timeline of this case. On march 16, 2012, sierra lamar disappears on her way to a morgan hill bus stop. March 17 her phone is found a few blocks away. March 18, her pink bag is found down the road from the cell phone. May 21, sheriffs deputies arrest garciatorres. Fast forward nearly two years to february, 2014, garciatorres pleads not guilty to murdering sierra lamar. On january 30 of this year, the trial finally got under way and then today more than five years after sierra lamar disappeared there is a verdict. Investigators in san rafael say there may be more victims in a scam involving a man trying to get sex in exchange for a fake apartment. A woman reported last week she answered an ad in a laundromat for an apartment to rent. The man who posted the flyer said he was a building manager and this if she had sex with him he would overlook a late payment or two. Police say the suspect is free on bail this morning. He admitted to not being an employee of any apartment complex or Property Management firm. Investigators hope other potential victims will come forward before they turn the case over to the d. A. Former employees accuse wells fargo of targeting and urging undocumented immigrants to open new accounts. San Francisco Police officers are using force on suspects less often according to a new report. Chief bill scott calls it proof the departments efforts to train officers on tactics such as deescalation are paying off.
