Hutchinson has appealed to the San Francisco rent board. But suddenly the landlord served an eviction notice, a catch22. Hutchinson now has to get out by july 21st,ac y weeks before thet board decides on the rent hike. Supervisor aaron peskin said he is on the case. We are trying to work with the rent board to see if we could help get that decision out more quickly. Reporter the rent hike letter states that 8,000 is the current fair market rental value. Peskin, whose district includes north beach, calls it preposterous. There is nothing that rents for 8,000 a month in north beach. But hutchinsons lawyer today filed a response in superior court questioning the merits. A judge could rule on the complaint and allow a full hearing on what we believe are the errors. The money would come from an existing tax, proposition 63 that voters passed in 2004. Plans include building 14,000 new homes. The no place like home program would provide treatment for homeless suffering from Mental Illness and it also calls for helping veterans. The plans still need Governor Brown saiz approval.
