They have arrested that driver who they say believe was under the influence of drugs because of the way she was acting. Also based on her interview with police and interview with witnesses. This is tragic for the teen family. Not only hason one family lost their teenage daughter, but they tell police that one of the girls fathers was planning to pick up the girls from a neighborhood pool and they ultimately walked home from. Two crosses and flowers and a teddy bear mark the spot where two teens and theirni family lis changed forever on tuesday afternoon. Oakley police say the 15yearold died when the driver of the Station Wagon ran her own. Police say her friend bounced off the hood. The impact of the crash knocked one of the girls out of her shoe. Roshel was a student at freedom high school. Wu my heart goes out to the family. Reporter police took the driver into custody immediately, suspected of being under the influence of drugs. Just prior to the fatal accident, she caught the attention of an offduty chp officer. He noet noted noted that she was driving erratically and swerving and ran a red light and it aappeared she was under the influence and getting ready to give us a call and unfortunately the girls were struck prior to the call. The girls were walking home from the neighbor pool. The road has no sidewalks. Life long resident amber hodge said it is known for accidents. Just to hear there was children walking on the road is heartbreaking. When i see anybody walking, it scares me. Reporter police are not releasing the name of the other victim because she is 16 years old and in critical but stable condition and expected to pull through. She has some broken bones in her legs and some head trauma. Reporter the driver has no injuries. Police say she was driving without a license. It was possibly expired. She was kind of in and out as far as what had happened. Reporter blood tests will take two to three weeks to come back. Any Impaired Driving is against the law. San francisco animal care and control investigators have found no evidence of tainted meatballs in a park where a man feared his dogs were poisoned. His dog died after a walk in debouse park. Hundreds of meatballs that were tainted with rat poison were found in San Francisco twin peaks area back in 2013 and 2014. The person who put those meatballs there was never found. Reporter well, larry and kristen Nothing Specific yet, but we are told this will help drive the policy discussion as the new department on homelessness is launchedond friday and mayor ed lee said he is glad the media is educating the public about the challenges the city faces with homelessness. So the weeklong media saturation has put the focus on a visible crisis. The last count puts the number of homeless in San Francisco at just under 7,000 but advocates say the distressing statistics are even higher. Tent encampments are a syllable of the challenge even as the city spends 241 million a year on services. The mayor said homelessness is a complex problem that includes physical and Mental Health issues, housing affordability,รท job opportunities, and he told me he appreciates the conversation our Media Coverage has triggered. He could sell them eventually. But some of the cars have been here for months. Look at the dirt on the windshield. Look at sign. Not ready for retail sale. Over there, it said stop sale. This is a volkswagen and obviously the reason they dont have a fix figured out as to how they get the cars repairs and back on the road. It is not just diesel cars but cars with takata airbags. A lot are filled with them. Hes the biggest car dealer in sonoma family, selling bugs in the 1800s and never before has henry or his staff faced a challenge as difficult as the one on this and other lots. How many cars on this nrlot . On thisc lot here, 150. And how many of those can you sell . About a third. As a volkswagen dolor, many of these car o dealers, man are diesel and some are brandnew. Michael finney is here andt said this is a new problem. As if we dontn have enough problems with the recalls. Unbelievable. This is unsettled. Toyota is recalling a half million cars in the united states, about a million more worldwide. And it is due to a new airbag risk. Toyota said the problem is unrelated to the huge recall of takatani airbags, in this case ] airbags are madee1 by a differe company which toyota did not identify. These airbags are used over side windows. They contain a part that could crack and cause an explosion, shooting piecesxd into the car. That is similar to what has happened with the takata airbags. Ref injuries or death. The recall affected some prius and plugin and lexus ct models made between 2010 and 2012. Toyota will replace those airbags free of charge. They will contact you. F uber announced it will t tracking the drivers behavior on the road. Is Testing Software to monitor each driver through the uber app. The software can record behavior like speeding, slamming on the brakes and making sharp turns. Uber will give drivers feedback to improve safety and job performance. The state lawmaker wants you know how much cap and trade is costing you at the gas pump.
