Police say the man shot her outside a nearby house and managed go ed to get inside to for help. They describe the incident as an attempted murder suicide. There were some confusion at first whether there might be other victim. There was another female that was seen running away and we determined that was a female that because of the shots being fired was just running away from the scene itself. There are no other victims that were aware of. Reporter the womans wounds were nonlife threatening. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. At least 11 Police Vehicles lined the street as officers responded and began to look for potential witnesses and evidence. Police are not saying what type of gun was found or used. Its still unclear what precipitated the double shooting. Police are saying that the victims were acquainted but the extent of any relationship isnt known. Police did detain several adults. They were freed and the cuffs removed about an hour later. A Nonprofit Group leader said the neighborhood is known for gang activity. It hass a history, as many know, of gang shootings. Reporter no one has linked it to gang activity. In oakland firefighters and paramedics rescue and revive two animals today. Abc 7 news was at fairfax avenue after a fire broke out at a home this avenue. The Oakland Fire Department said neighbors called to report flames coming from the basement. Firefighters contained the flames and discovered a dog and a cat inside. Paramedics jumped into action. They carry specialized equipment for rekusatihesesusci animals. They were able to bring them back to life. They are doing fine but the cause of the fire is still under investigation. The free mont Police Department has reopened a decade old case.
