Oakland police say several people were taken to the hospital. Police say many of the victims are in stable condition. No arrests have been made. A man and a woman are under arrest in connection to a death of a woman who was found dead in a park on thursday. The body of 21yearold karla ramirezsegoviano was found in an east oakland park. Abc7 News Reporter Sergio Quintana has the details. Reporter friends and family gathered at karla ramirezsegovianos home. A friend who worked with her came to pay his respects. He said he also knows one of the suspects. I know the girl. She used to work at kfc. It shocks me because how can a a coworker do that to another coworker . The coworker is named laura rodgers. Laura rodgers was booked into the almeda county jail on murder charges. Karlas body was found around noon on thursday. Investigators say karla had been badly beaten, stabbed and burned. Her family has been distraught since she disappeared earlier this week. Karlas said its been awful for all of them, especially having to watch her parents in pain. Karla was in the almeda county Sheriffs Department explorers program. A deputy has known her since she started three years ago. Im hanging in there. Its difficult. Probably one of the hardest things ive had to deal with. Investigators say they dont believe her connection to the Sheriffs Department was part of the motive for her murder. Abc7 news. They helped install a kaboom playground at Grover Cleveland park. The park was nearly 25 years old and the nearest other park is over a mile away. Playground at the park. Playground is based on a design be created by children and will encourage physical activity and creative thinking. Kaboom is a nonprofit that has opened more than 16,000 playgrounds nationwide. State wildlife officials are putting dungeness crab back on the table just in time for thanksgiving. The recreational crab fishing season opens today. Last year a toxin in the crabs delayed the opening for several months. This years cooler temperatures and steady rain are good news for crab fishermen.
