Unemployment benefits could be cut and children may be eliminated from certain programs. They are trying to meet a march 15th deadline when layoff notices may be handed out. There is more layoffs because of the sequestration issue. We are going to see an uptick in the number of layoffs we see on march 15th. The effects of the cuts wont be felt until april. This morning, president obama is calling on congress to take action to reverse the cuts. In his weekly address. President says since not everyone will feel the impact of the federal spending cuts right away, there is still time for congress to come up with a plan. The president says both sides just need to compromise. Here is the thing. None of this is necessary. Its happening because republicans in congress chose this out come over closing a single wasteful tax loophole to help reduce the deficit. The special tax breaks for well off is more important than protecting our military and middleclass families from these cuts. Our plan. He was born with diamond black fan anemia, a rare disorder that kept his bone marrow from producing an adequate supply of red blood cells. Without adequate transfusion support, certainly they could die. Doctors kre recruited a small group of blood donors to support the transfusion needs. His transfusions require day long trips to john muir medical center. For weeks we had planned it. We could also tell as it got closer to transfusion time that his lips would turn color, pale. Finally in may of last year, dillon received a bone Marrow Transplant from his brother. Now, he can live a normal life without any more transfusions. He owes them big time. [ laughter ] he finally met four of the nine people that gave him the blood type needed to keep him alive. I know that every time you give blood you are saving lives but going to one person and making such a difference is incredibly rewarding. None of people showed as much emotion as this group of donors as doillons two grandmothers. The reunion is the first of its kind in northern california. Police say the incident began in daly city where police started chasing two men in a car that was reported stolen. Police say two men judged out of the car. The car kept rolling and crashed into the back of a patrol car. Officers fired and one suspect was killed. The second man was taken into custody. Investigation is ongoing right now.
