Good morning, im Tiffany Wilson in for carolyn tyler. Lets start off with a quick look at the weather. Heres meteorologist lisa argen. Hi there, tiffany. Good morning to you. The fog continues to quickly erode this morning. Heres a look from the roof camera. A pretty perspective where temperatures are climbing through the 60 in san carlos and san jose. Mid60s oakland. The clouds are parting there, as well. And from our tower looking at the deck of low clouds at about 500 feet, i would say. Temperatures today upper 80s to mid90s inland. Another warm one here. San francisco about 73. We will have plenty of sunshine from stinson to ocean beach and a warm day again at santa cruz. Around the bay talking about upper 70s in oakland to the mid80s. We will pinpoint the rest of your labor day forecast and talk about the cool down coming up. Tiffany. Lisa, thank you. Breaking news this morning. Another 49ers player has been arrested. Defensive lineman ray mcdonald is charged with felony Domestic Violence. San jose Police Responded to Bentley Ridge drive around 3 00 this morning and booked macdonald into the Santa Clara County jail. Just last week nfl commissioner roger good dell announce add new rule any nfl employee engaging in Sexual Assault, domestic assault, battery, will be suspended. And second time offenders will be banished from the league at least a year. Hes the second niners player to be suspended this any. Aldon smith was suspended friday with a dui arrest. Livermore police are investigating a shooting during a house party that left five people wounded. Police say three men had been invited to attend a party and then they got into a scuffle with some other guests. Shortly after they left, witnesses say a white vehicle pulled up in front of the house and they started firing. Investigators are still unclear as to who was in the car, but they suspect it was the men who were asked to leave. Police say that the three women and two men who were shot are not in lifethreatening condition. One people died after a fiery car crash in alamo this morning. Investigators say the car was traveling eastbound on stone valley road when it veered off the roadway into a residential area. It ended up hitting a light pole, mailboxes and a fence before coming to a stop. The car then caught on fire with the person trapped inside. Investigators are still trying to determine when alcohol was a factor. One week after the 6. 0 earthquake hit napa, aftershocks have the community on edge. Two earthquakes hit near napa this morning. One hit about five miles south of napa shortly before 2 00 a. M. And another one 6 30 this morning about 7 miles southeast of napa. That was a 5. 2 magnitude quake. There were foe reports of damage or injuries from the aftershocks. In sonoma, officials declared an emergency after last weeks earthquake. The proclamation made yesterday clears the way for Business Owners to seek state and federal emergency funds. Officials say Sonoma County had more than 4. 5 million in damages. The quake caused at least 362 million in damage in napa county. Lots of people are lending a hand to help rebuild. Sergio quintana was in downtown napa where businesses were booming and so were the fundraisers. On the first saturday since the napa earthquake, it was a celebration for naked wines and their customers. We were allowed to reopen yesterday and the first thing that came to mind was to throw a party. The building was red tagged after the quake, but an inspector posted a green tag. Think are back in business. Lots of their inventory was damaged, so now they are having a sale. We are actually selling them at five dollars minimum donation per bottle. People are coming in here and restock being their wane it their wine cellars. The labels may be stained and some bottle caps dented but the wine inside are fine. All proceeds go to the napa valley relief funds. A few blocks away, restoration crews were hard at work and there was a line of people out the door. I cant wait to get up there and give it a kiss and rub it for good luck for the sharks this year. She was one of the hundreds of people that got to get up to the stanley cup. This was an event that was planned before the quake, but it turned into a reopening for the property. We are asking people to donate a minimum of 5 and put it in the cup to get their picture taken and at the end of the evening the kings will match all donations. The Los Angeles Kings general manager lives in the area, so he offered up the cup to help. The westin had to evacuate all their guests last weekend and only portions of the hotel have reopened. They expect to be fully operational in a few weeks. Downtown napa had been experiencing a renaissance the last few years and the hope is to keep that going, despite the quake. In napa, sergio quintana, abc7 news. This morning worshipers from a napa church damaged in last weeks quake will be Holding Services elsewhere after a local pastor reached out for help. Repairs to the First United Methodist Church are expected to cost more than 1 million. A pastor at the 7th Day Adventist Church nearby heard about it and offered to lend them their church for free every sunday until further notice. Pastor said their Church Worships on saturdays so there was no problem to let the Methodist Church use it on sundays. One of the biggest things people are dealing with now is cleaning up. Yesterday morning in an effort to help, free cleaning supplies were given out in the parking lot of the napa bank. So many people turned out, everything was gone by noon. Im here to get more cleaning supplies. But i guess they ran out. Building inspectors are still at work and more than 1,000 buildings have either been yellow or redtagged. The good news, cleanup is pro grossing and the debris tile pyle is getting smaller. Oakland police say a man is in Critical Condition after he was hit by a patrol car. It happened yesterday around 1 30 yesterday afternoon near lake merritt. These pictures of the scene were sent to us by a viewer. Police say the officer was responding to a call when he hit a pedestrian. Investigators say the officer was driving slowly, but the 58yearold man had to be hospitalized. Another accident involving a pedestrian is under investigation in San Francisco. Police say the victim was hit by a big rig around 4 30 p. M. Yesterday at fifth and folsom streets. You see the big rig appears to have stopped in the intersection. Police say the victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. Firefighters in san jose were busy battling two fires in hot and windy conditions. They hope things will slow down this Holiday Weekend. Abc7 News Reporter Lisa Amin Gulezian has more. Reporter it took a lot to put out this fire on north 7th street. The smoke could be seen for miles. On the ground it was worst. Chris was one of two people inside one of the buildings when the fire started. Ive never been in a fire like this before. It was huge. It was everywhere. There was black smoke. You couldnt even see behind there. It was terrible. Reporter two buildings went up in flames. They were used for storing old cars, parts and tools. The fire started not far from here and rushed down this direction of the building. At the same time a witness said he saw someone look pretty suspicious running down the train tracks that way. Investigators say they still havent decided what the cause is. But that doesnt matter to the business owner. My body okay, my dog okay, and i am happy. Unfortunately he also didnt have insurance. But just as firefighters got control of one fire, another broke out a few miles away off in kelly park off the road. It burned a half acre. It was a tough fight. Now saturday firefighters will be watched closely to make sure exhaustion doesnt set in. When you have higher heat, it causes problems. Then when they start doing multiple fires backtoback, that takes a toll too. Those are all things we are concerned about going into a weekend that looks like it will get relatively warm. And windy. Conditions that worry fire crews. They dont expect to get another break for another two months when the fire season officially ends. Lisa amin gulezian, abc7 news. Two wildfires sparked by lightning nearly three weeks ago are now threatening hundreds of homes. The fires near happy camp in the National Forest began files miles apart from each other on august 11th. Yesterday they merged into one big fire. In all, nearly 58,000 acres have burned. A mandatory Evacuation Order has been given for 250 homes. The fire is just 15 contained. Starting tomorrow the cost to ride muni is going to go up for most passengers. On labor day, a daily cash ticket will cost riders 2. 25. That is a 25cent increase. The increase also applies to clipper cards. And muni fast passes will cost more. Up two dollars for the monthly adult passes and four dollars more for the apasses. Lifeline monthly passes will go up by a dollar. Seniors and disabled and low and middle income youth will remain the same. This is the first muni increase since 2009. I imagine a lot of people will be taking muni to the baseball game this afternoon. Yeah, and still a couple clouds hang around the bay. Cloudy in hayward. Ill let you know when we will have a hot labor day when we return. And next, a volcano in iceland is rumbling again. How it may affect air travel. And a huge turnout for a bay area woman who had a brain aneurysm authorities in iceland have raised the aviation warning code for a volcano after a small eruption. This mornings eruption was the third in the area in eight days. On friday a smaller eruption prompted authorities to briefly restrict flights around the valcano. The Civil Protection Department Said all airports remain open, in 2010 hundreds of flights were cancelled after ash spued thousands of feet into the air. This morning the first openly gay player to be drafted by an nfl team is waiting to see if another team will claim him on waivers. All northbound lanes from 101 to the king street offramp are closed for the Holiday Weekend. Crews are replacing two bridge hinges as part of a seismic retrofitting project on 280. Its been around with San Francisco traffic and its time for repair. This hinge has nothing to do with the recent quake. It was scheduled years out in advance. If you are going to the giants game at at t park, you want to give yourself extra time. S. Association. So many donations made, they are 34 times higher than this time last year. And reporter Elizabeth Cohen shows us why this fundraiser has been so successful. As of friday the a. L. S. Association said donations are up an astonishing 3,504 from the same time last year. And while you can say that hashtag amazing, theres a worry the dunkers expectations might be disappointed because even with all this money a cure for a. L. S. Is still a long way off. Progress against these really tough issues takes patience and it takes time. We wont see results overnight and nobody should expect them. Sylvia buchanan is president for the center for philanhthropic donations in haiti. He said donors often want to see quick results and they want to know where their money is going right away. There would be a temptation to give it all away quickly, but it maybe wiser to be more deliberate, see what shows evidence of success, and then and only then fund that in a bigger way. Dozens of people gathered last night to raise money for a morgan hill mom with a long road to recovery ahead. The hawaiianthemed fundraiser in sunnyvale was packed. This 33yearold is a mother of two and wife of a Public Safety officer. She suffered a brain aneurysm on july 4th. Since then shes had several costly surgeries and is now in speech and physical therapy at a san jose hospital. Heidis mom said her daughter was overwhelmed when she learned about all the support from her community. We discovered that she can read now and she was thumbing through on her dads cell phone looking at all of this and she really got tears in her eyes. Pretty overwhelmed by it all. I dont think she had any idea how many people care about her and how many lives she has touched. In addition to last nights fundraising event, a gofundme than 107,000. This is the second year a labor day tradition is being broadcast by a single network, unlike prior years when it aired on various networks. It airs tonight from nine to eleven right here on abc7. Oakland pride kicks off today. The parade celebrating the lgbt Lgbtq Community at 14th street and broadway and it ends at 20th and broadway. Heres a look from the east bay hills camera. You just see sutro right there. We will look for a nice beach day today. And the fog will sit for a little while along the san mateo coast. Then it pulls back. Warm to hot once again today. Above average today and into labor day. The warmest day of the week. And then september arrives with a little bit of cooling into tuesday, the second day of the month. So heres a look at our water vapor imagery. High pressures off the coast. The marine layer is not deep. So a dryer marine layer. It will provide that afternoon sea breeze. Help us right here on the peninsula from getting too hot. Mid70s for milbrae art and wine festival. Tomorrow is not going to make it all the way down into the inland valleys or over to the east bay valleys so you will be warm here again in san jose at 84. Low 90s gilroy. 79 santa cruz. 85 soup tino. Numbers on the peninsula ranging from 74 milbrae, 85 redwood city and the sunshine here with the sea breeze, 60s pacifica. And ocean beach about 66. San francisco once again low 70s. In the north bay you will see the reds here. It is going to be warm as you head up toward santa rosa and sonoma. Even in the central marin in the upper 80s san rafael. Near east bay, and berkeley a nice day, in the 70s. Union city 79. Castro valley 80. You head inland and its the low 90s here. This is our sutro tower. Fur going to the game this afternoon its going to be beautiful. Nice, a little breezy toward the afternoon burks a nice take at the ballpark. Accuweather sevenday forecast. A few degrees of warming inland will keep it kind of beachy around the bay and coast. Then the fog that is stranded deep into the system drops in from the Pacific Northwest.
