Abc7 news starts right now with live, breaking news. Good morning, im Carolyn Tyler, breaking news. Crews are a battle a three alarm fire in the Mission District near 16th and sharkwell. This is a driver picture from the south beach camera. The fire broke out just before 8 00 this morning at an auto bodyshop. You see the flames under thick, black smoke that had been rising into the sky. We are waiting on word from the San Francisco Fire Department on whether any residences are threatened or if there are any injuries from this blaze. And we have video from abc7 news viewer nina. This is another view of that chick smoke. You see its really black there and some flames. Firefighters are worried the building may collapse. We are joined right now on the phone by abc7 news photographer who is at the scene. Ron, can you tell what is fueling the fire . Is it tires or what is going on . This is a tire shop. Its a wheel repair service. They do wheel repairs, but mostly it is tires. So that seems to be the fuel that has turned the skies above San Francisco black this morning. The Fire Department was here quickly. They have it very much under control at this point. They are pouring water on it for the hotspots. I see a few flames inside the building still. But for the most part the smoke has subsided and the firefighters are in a mopup operation. So thats good news. No other buildings threatened, then . They contain just about one shop . Theres no other buildings threatened at this time. However, there is a three story Apartment Building right to the west of it on 16th street which has suffered Severe Damage and is probably going to be unable to be occupied. How many crews do you see out there, ron . Ive seen at least i would say at least four engines, five aerial ladders. Well, three aerial ladders, five engines. The Fire Department threw everything they had at this fire and they got it under control. When i first arrived, there were hot flames throughout the building. In about ten minutes it was knocked down to just smoke. When i started watching it around 8 00 this morning it was looking like this video we are seeing now where really black, black smoke and you could see as they got the water on the flames it started to turn white. So its good that they have this under control. But as you said, they are remaining on the scene to mop up the hotspots . Yeah. They are not going to be leaving anytime soon. So its a lot of activity here but the Fire Department does what they do so well in San Francisco. They did it again. All right. Ron, thanks so much for being out there for us and thank you for joining us on the phone this morning to give us an onerview of whats happening out there. Lets go now to a quick look at the weather with meteorologist lisa argen. Lisa, this smattering of rain certainly has to be helping the firefighters. Yes, carolyn. The winds are very, very light. Slightly out of the south. So with the cloud cover and the very light wind, the smoke just sort of drifting about in the city. And we will look for a little bit of that to be pushed to the north because of that south wind. The cold front is through the northern Sacramento Valley. We have rain showers and amounts bit of snow mixed in in the upper elevations way north of laport and grass valley but closer to home you notice a smattering of light showers east of concord and also to the south around 680. San ramon looking at few showers. Walnut creek you may get some. As we widen the view theres more offshore. This should fill in a little. Looking like the peninsula could see showers in the next hour or too. Theres the front and we have an area of low pressure that will push on through tomorrow. A live look outside from the east bay hills camera getting some rain showers. So with the cloud cover, a little fog in the north bay, visibility not great out there, but temperatures are warmer to start and it will be cooler this afternoon. 57 Half Moon Bay and we go through just a few more hours i want to show you how it sort of develops more into the noon hour east and south.
