The fbi and atf joining the investigation, trying to figure out what happened inside that home. Overnight, new details about what happened inside this brentwood, New Hampshire, home. Watch as the house, consumed by fire, is caught on camera exploding. Oh, my goodness. Reporter see that again. The explosion rocking the house all the way to its foundation. [ siren ] reporter at approximately 4 00 p. M. Monday Police Received a call about a domestic dispute at this home. Officer steve arkell ran to the scene. Shot and killed by resident michael nolan. Police would approach the home in an armored vehicle. Im shaking. Im still shaking. All we could hear was gunfire. There were cops all around the house. I could hear him loading a rifle. Reporter a fire soon breaking out, the home exploding. Moments later we went to each other, we have to get out of here. Reporter the house belonged to 86yearold walter nolan, seen here on a stretcher. He shared the home with his 47yearold son, michael. Officials say the men were arguing before the explosion. The younger nolan didnt survive. It is believed mr. Nolan was killed by the fire, or the explosion. Reporter the slain officer was part of the force for 15 years. Good morning, everyone. We begin with an emergency inside a coal mine in West Virginia. And reports of miners trapped overnight. Rescue crews have responded to an accident inside the brody mine in boone county, after indications of a possible roof collapse. Two miners are now confirmed dead. As news of the accident spread, families rushed to the mine to check on loved ones. Local media reports the mine has been cited recently for dozens of safety violations. Scientists are warning that the ice sheet at the bottom of the earth in western antarctica, is melting so quickly, it is unstoppable. And this morning, police are looking at surveillance video, hoping to find the second one. Abcs alex perez has the story. Reporter this weekend, he was celebrating his college graduation. But this morning, former Minnesota University football linebacker Isaac Kolstad is fighting to stay alive. The 24yearold is in critical condition, suffering severe head injuries after an altercation sunday morning with quarterback phillip nelson. A former star quarterback at the university of minnesota, named mr. Football in 2011, before transferring to rutgers earlier this year. Nelson was arrested and charged with assaulting kolstad and released overnight after posting bail. This morning, police are on the hunt, looking for a second suspect. The man seen here in this newlyreleased surveillance video, in a red shirt, running down the street. Described as a white male in his early 20s, wearing a red tshirt it appears. And jeans and the suspects shirt was torn. Reporter kolstad and nelson crossed paths after a night at the bars in mankato, minnesota. Getting into a heated argument around 2 00 a. M. Sunday. Authorities say kolstad threw the first punch and then walked away. Thats when investigators say the man in the red shirt ran up to kolstad and punched him in the face. So hard, witnesses say kolstad immediately collapsed. He immediately fell to the ground. I can still hear the sound of when his head hit the ground. It was horrible. Reporter surveillance cameras captured nelson approaching him, who was motionless on the ground, kicking him in the head. Right now, hes been unresponsive for about ten minutes. Reporter nelson told police, he doesnt remember kicking kolstad. And rutgers is reserving comment until the Legal Process is complete.
