Karen . karen castro Sheriff Joe Lombardo tells me this has been in the works for many months now. He says there is a dire need for more Police Officers along the strip and fremont for a number of reasons visitation numbers are growing, the Convention Space is expanding, and the recent violence including a deadly shooting near the strip last week. Under the sheriffs proposal. 67 officers would be hired for the strip and seven for fremont. Plus, an additional 10 supervisors to manage the support center that overlooks both locations. It would cost an estimated 10point8 Million Dollars annually to get more boots on the ground on las vegas boulevard. And about onemillion for fremont street.
