Deadly officer involved shootings like the one you see there that led to this review by the department of justice. Some of the key findings i just saw in this report thats about 400 pages. Here are a few of the key findings. It includes that the majority of the deadly use of force incidents by the sfpd involve people of color. They found that when it comes to bias that africanamericans were disproportionately stopped compared to their representation in the driving population of San Francisco. Not only that, but the africanamerican drivers and hispanics that were pulled over by cops in traffic stops are less likely to be found with contraband than the white drivers that were pulled over. As a result, the department of justice made 270 recommendations to sfpd to fix these problems. As i mentioned, these are just a few of the key findings since were talking about a 400page report. Its important to note that this review was voluntary which means it will not end in any sort of Court Monitored settlement for the San Francisco Police Department. Reporter good morning to you, kris. The faa requires airports to test their emergency procedures once every three years. But sfo chooses to do these largescale emergency drills annually. In this mornings scenario the large boeing 767 collided with a smaller aircraft. The three Fire Departments on location here at sfo responded immediately to lay water on the scene. They called upon mutual aid from First Responders based out of san mateo and San Francisco county like they would in a reallife scenario. Many people volunteered to be the passengers this morning. Some made up to look like they were hurt badly in the crash. Others were pretending to be fatalities. The goal was to stretch the resources as much as possible by forcing the firefighters and paramedics to divide up between the two crash sites that are a couple of hundred yards apart. Part of the idea is to put a strain on our capabilities to find out where our weaknesses are so that we can do better next time. Reporter First Responders from outside agencies observed this mornings drill to give an independent evaluation of how sfo did. The airport will incorporate what they learned today into their Emergency Response plan moving forward. The responders were put to the real test when athe flight crashed and three people were killed including a young girl passenger run over by a responding fire truck.
