Of how it happened and what happened. Nbcs mark potter is in South Carolina this morning. Mark good morning. Reporter good morning, erica. Walter scotts funeral will be held in the church behind me in summerville, South Carolina. It has been a week since the shooting where many questions remain unanswered. Now we need to come together as a community remembering walter scott. Reporter at the city hall a somber vigil friday night for 50yearold walter scott. With members of the group black lives matter and others demanding an end to senseless killing. I stand here because were tight. Enough is enough. Reporter on the day of scotts funeral, there are questions about why the shooting occurred and why as seen on the dash cam video, he bolted from a car and ran away after a traffic stop by officer michael slager. Documents showed scott owed 18,000 in Child Support going back years. His father suggested that is the reason he ran from the officer. Dehe did not want to go to jail. He has been there before. Child support. Reporter the biggest question is what happened when officer slager caught up with scott and a scuffle occurred. A Police Incident report shows slager fired his taser and called dispatch requesting back up. Shots fired. Subject down. He grabbed my taser. Reporter the cell phone video shows scott running away and the officer shooting him in the back. On tuesday, slager was arrested and charged with murder. Meantime 23yearold Feidin Santana who shot the cell phone video has an emotional meeting with the scott family. Thank you, god. Reporter the family insning for president in 2016. This will be her second run, of course for the white house. Her campaign is expected to be vastly different than the last time around. Nbcs Kristen Welker is outside Clintons Campaign headquarters in brooklyn. Kristen, good morning. Reporter peter, good morning. Hillary clinton makes it official tomorrow. Things are already gearing up at Campaign Headquarters here in brooklyn. Bustling with newly hired staffers including some from the obama administration. This is clinton 2. 0. A retooled campaign that could once again makes history. Im back. Reporter after all the talk Hillary Clinton is ready to launch. Leaving behind the big rally from 08. She will take to twitter with a listening tour and vfw halls of iowa and new hampshire. Clinton starts ahead in the polls, but this time up close and personal with voters. I dont see it as a rebranding. It is her getting closer to roots and presenting authentic self. Reporter she is expected to play the rule of mother and grandmother. She said there is a fundamental challenge of having our first woman president , whenever that is will resolve. Hillary clinton will emphasize as former secretary of state and senator. Hillary clinton is well known for the beyonce level well known in this country or around the world. What is less well known is her record. Reporter republicans are out with a new online attack ad. Hillary clinton has explaining to do. Reporter at an nra event on friday, they took shots at Hillary Clinton as secretary of state. We had good news for hillary. Had their fire hire the head of email security. Reporter so as she answers difficult questions about her past clinton will try to convince voters she has the right vision for the future. Now polls show clinton is trouncing her democratic rivals but things get difficult in the general election. Her first stop iowa next week. Peter. Kristen, thank you very much. Robert gibbs is the nbc political analyst and former White House Press secretary under probama. Robert good morning. Good morning, peter. Lets turn back the clock to seven years at this time. You were then working for senator barack obama. What does she need to do differently . She talked about it. Going into the living rooms and vfws and smaller halls. I think voters will want to see candidates earn this nomination the old fashion way. That is going out there and talking and meeting voters. Not the big rallies. That is what she is set to do. You talk about the democratic primary. She is the overwhelming favorite. I guess the question is is there any democrat that has the ability to compete with her and beat her and if she is the Harlem Globetrotters for the Washington Generals in the next six months . What happens if she cannot get the gaps out and hone her message . I dont think there is anyone that can run for president that can beat her. She is the dominant democrat in the field. What is important about this weekend and it will set the tone for the campaign is the why she is running. That is what everyone willis even to. We now know the if and how and when. We want to hear the why. What animates her to run for office again. What causes does she want to bring forward. I think that is what people across the political spectrum will be listening for this weekend. Republicans will try to make this as difficult as they can for Hillary Clinton. You heard from ted cruz attacking her for the personal email as secretary of state. Not too long ago on the show you described that as highly unusual. How big of a problem is that Going Forward for Hillary Clinton . I still think there are questions she needs to answer. I do think, peter, the biggest issues that surround the election are still issues of economics and frankly personal and homeland security. I think you have middle class and how they will do in the next eight years is tremendously important and how we keep this our country safe in a very dangerous world. I think thats what shes going to find is asked of her and most of the candidates when they sit in living rooms and vfw halls. And finally bill clinton. He said he will be a back stage advisor. You know the last campaign he was on stage. He got himself in trouble. If you are in charge of the Clinton Campaign how do you manage the former president . You have to understand former president clinton is among the best political strategist in the party and best communicators in all of politics. What they need to do is figure out what that key role is for him and use him in that way. Clearly, he got frustrated last time because he did not believe in the strategy. Including him early in how they do these things and putting him in a position to push Hillary Clinton forward, he can be i think an effective surrogate like no one else. Thank you, robert. New video of a brawl outside of a walmart in arizona. Sheinelle. The dash cam video is of a fight that left one dead and an injured officer. An officer appears to be on the ground struggling with the suspect over his weapon. That is when another officer fatally shot the suspect. Police say the shooting was justified. The fbi is investigating a Police Beating caught on tape in a california desert this week. Lets talk about major league baseball. Promising to speed things up in baseball this season. That was not the case in the bronx last night.
