Reporter good morning to you. At least hundreds are injured. Dozens trapped in the rubble. The epicenter of this quake was 50 miles west of kathmandu. The quake causing damage in neighboring countries, and there are reports of an avalanche on mount ef lest. A Government Official said almost the entire country has been hit. Outside a hospital in nepal, scenes of chaos with patients overflowing with the parking lot outside. The 7. 9 quake shook nepals capital before noon hat 11 56 local time. Houses collapsed. Roads buckled. This 200yearold tower crumbled to the ground. Rescuers are desperately trying to dig people out from under the rubble. More than 50 may be trapped. On mount everest, there are reports the quake triggered an avalanche with climbers from the around the world preparing to a push to the summit. Camp one and camp two swept away by avalanche. Many climbers missing and also from north side as per reports. A tweet from one point, five miles from everest. Running for life from my tent. Unhurt. Many, many people up the mountain. The quake was felt 300 miles away in india and pakistan. 20 were killed in india. More than 400 dead in nepal. That number could go higher as rescuers reach the more remote towns in the can man due valley home to about 2. 5 Million People. You were in your car when this quake struck. What are you seeing and experiencing . I was driving with my 10yearold son. We were going to go to a lunch, and were driving down a hill and initially i thought i had a flat tire but it was almost like you were being buffetted. The roads was going, does going in waves. Everyone else was dodging erratically and slamming on the brakes. Motorcycles stalling in front of us. Trees completely bent in two, and we did what we have been trained to do which is go to the center of the road turn off the engine, keep your seat belt on and crouch down in the car until you think you can get out, and weve had more than 11 aftershocks since then. I managed to drive back to my house. I live in the Southern Suburbs of kathmandu. Its on a ridge. Its not the narrow roads and old buildings. Theyve been really badly hit. There are reports of overflowing hospitals with injured and dead on the sidewalks and on the street and on the steps leading up to the hospitals. The main big white tower in central kathmandu was toppled the same way it did in the huge 1934 earthquake. This is the land of earthquakes. Everyone was saying a big one is coming. We want to talk about the Severe Weather putting tens of millions of people in harms way in this country. We are expecting another day of dangerous conditions. Dylan has been tracking this for us. Yesterday we had several tornadoes, especially in kansas. Reports of 11 tornadoes. Some caught on camera. These were in very rural parts of kansas so were not hearing reports of too much damage but the National Weather service will go out and assess the damage to determine exactly how many tornadoes were seen. You can see multiple tornadoes on that picture alone. We also had heavy rain down through texas where severe storms brought torrential downpours. Cars really getting stuck in a lot of this rain. Again, you do not want to drive throug you do not want to drive through the waters. Flash flooding situations. You never know how deep the water is. It was coming down in buckets. We had wind gusts of 70 to 90 miles an hour. More Straight Line wind damage in texas. A lot of the tornadoes were reported in kansas. Today, we do still have the threat. We have a h i effect. Here you see in the red box here. We are looking for that to remain in effect until 9 00. You see the rotation up here in kansas and nebraska. Thats where an upper level low is going to trigger more storms later on today. We will see them redevelop later on this afternoon. The only saving grace is the fact the thunderstorms this morning a lot of the energy from the storms that we will see later on this afternoon. We are looking at widespread thunderstorms today. I want to show you parts of kentucky and tennessee. That is our enhanced chance of seeing more tornadoes, damaging wind gusts and hail. Dangerous cloudtoground ligh stay indoors. Dylan, thanks.
