This will be in addition to the Extensive Surveillance Network that is in operation around Pittsburgh City streets. You see Police Walking highway 4 looking for evidence after a shootout that started in antioch and ended up on the busy roadway. Since november, chp says four People Killed in roughly 20 other shootings. These shootings are hard to solve. There arent many witnesses because many drivers cant hear the gun shots. c the suspects get away quick because they are driving at highway speeds. A major tourist attraction shut down at our nations capital. Perhaps the lesson for anyone thinking about overstepping the rules inside a national park. That baby bison we told you about, some visitors at yellowstone believed it needed help. They put the calf in the back of the car because they believed it was cold. A photo taken last week you see here went viral. Now park rangers euthanized the calf because the herd rejected it. We made numerous attempts to put that bison back with the herd it came from. That newborn calf kept coming back to the road, kept chasing cars, kept trying to get close to visitors and not to the herd and its mother. So sad. The park service is reminding everyone to respect park rules and stay at least 25 yards away from park wildlife. The father and son were trying to help the calf actually ended up with a hefty fine. Tough lesson to learn. 5 25. The Washington Monument is expected to be back open next hour, but the elevator which had been out of Service Since saturday morning has now finally been repaired. A spokesperson says the problem was a faulty computer chip on the elevators control board. The monument has been closed several times over the past few months because of problems with that same elevators. Visitors in april were forced to walk down hundreds of stairs when it stopped working. Investigative unit exclusive. The government is concerned about toxic chemicals once found in foam firefighters what they use for crash landings. They are finding toxins are getting into our water supply. San francisco and san jose firefighters are using environmentallyfriendly foam. For decades, toxic foam was used at airports, water refineries and military bases across the country. The epa asked water public systems to test for the chemicals. They found positive hits in 28 drinking supplies in california. Water managers say because toxins are found in the water doesnt mean they pose a health risk. By all accounts, these chemicals are indestructible. Its extraordinarily long lived once it gets out in the environment, it almost never breaks down.
