A man from a small coastal town is in jail accused of molesting girls over a period of 14 years. San mateo county sheriffs deputies arrested Daniel Miranda at his home. The 66 year old is charged with molesting five girls between 1999 and 2013. The d. A. s office says miranda targeted his daughters friends when they would come over for sleep overs. Investigators say the first victim came forward in 2014. The Sheriffs Department said there wasnt enough evidence for arrest until last month when more victims came forward. Child protective services notified us that someone made allegations that they had been sexually molested by him. The next step here is that Law Enforcement is asking parents on the coast to talk to their daughters. Miranda pleaded not guilty to 17 felony counts of lewd acts with a child and bail set at 6 million. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in september. It is 5 04. An investigation is underway. Just before 9 00 last night near wilber avenue. The victim was thrown and landed in a nearby river pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Investigators say this does not appear to be a suicide. The panel issued the final report yesterday after releasing preliminary findings in may.
