Scientists are working on perfecting dna fingerprinting for a single strand of hair. The technique separates and analyzes the proteins found in the hair which can then be linked to one specific person worldwide. If we find that hair at a crime scene and we compare it to a hair from a suspect, if those patterns match, then we can say within a statistical probability about one in a million right now, that that hair came from that person. Scientists say once the technique is perfected, its probability will increase to about one in ten billion, more than the earths population. Because hair breaks down so slowly, potential dna evidence could last hundreds of years. Amazon customers may have more access to music.
