Ez the man behind the wheel is an aoub driver heading to pick up a passenger at the time and neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be factors in the crash. A victim was crossing out of the crosswalk, a length of the football field away. If he had crossed there it could have been a very different story. You can tell it is pretty dark where the pedestrian was crossing. It was certainly lit up a little bit better. The driver may have been able to see him. An 18yearold woman is still missing after she was involved in the crash and veered into the creek on saturday. Bob redell will explain how todays seven efforts could impact drivers. First responders will be shutting down the road to retrieve this woman answer sedan that plunged early saturday morning. Finding the car has been difficult because of the high water flow. Deputy thes are hopeful she had her seat belt crashed into the creek. Kris sanchez has been at the scene gathering information. So this investigation will be going on part of the morning, kris . Reporter right. This is a very serious crash. The pedestrian has very serious injuries at this point. We can tell you that. The uber driver who was behind the wheel at the time of the crash did remain at the scene. San jose police say he just did not see this man crossing actually road. It is a bit of a dark stretch as you get away from the intersection. The man, the uber driver who was headed to pick up a passenger does not appear to have been using alcohol nor drugs at the time of the crash. He did remain at the scene. The victim was crossing out of the crosswalk. That crosswalk is about the length of a football field away. If he had crossed there, the lieutenant says the story could have been very different. Yeah. You could tell it is pretty dark where he is crossing. Had he crossed at the proper spot at the crosswalk, it certainly lit up a little bit better. The driver may have been able to see him.
