Today, people in South San Francisco are cleared to drink from the water tap again after someone tried to open a hatch on a water storage tank. The Nonprofit Group council of light said San Francisco has denied its application for a summer of love 50th anniversary concert for a second time. The Group Released a sharply worded statement arguing the permits depart is holding them to a different standard and intentionally delaying their event. Council of light says the citys unfairly barring them from using volunteers advertising the event, or even running the event themselves. One of the groups comes from norcal dance arts in san jose who got the callup after two auditions. When we first got the say youre on the show, i was like are you sure . I was so happy. The seven girls aged 13 to 16, call themselves the posse. They were amazed by the competition on the show. We shared the stage with so many phenomenal dancers. We usually see them on instagram and youtube. The group rehearses five hours a day, five days a week. But nothing could prepare them for the moment they walked on stage in front of the world. It was exhilarating. I was like my hands and feet were sweating. I was like so nervous. Going through my head was first of all, we had j. Lo watching us. So i was like super excited and happy. The posse is led by artistic director tanya. I was very proud of them. They made it very far. And for us and it just was insane. The girls say the experience of finishing that first performance was life changing. Just started crying because we knew we did it. And after all the hard work it finally paid off. Welcome back. 75 years after his death, a Police Officer killed in the line of duty has finally been recognized for his sacrifice. It only happened because of the determination of his daughter. And the compassion of Law Enforcement across the country. Today in the bays Garvin Thomas has this mornings bay area proud. June says when she was a little girl and many young men in her town left to fight in world war ii her father did his part by filling a need at the local police department. She, it turns out, has been fighting a bit of a battle herself ever since then. One she is happy to say finally has a happy ending. Heres his wallet. Of all the things june still has of her fathers not every one fits neatly into a bag. This is his draft card. To this day, theres one june proudly wears for all to see. I inherited his smile. Thats what everyone tells me that remembered him. My fathers right here. Remembering lewis fipps, it turns out, is what the story is all about. The oldest of his five children june, was just 9 years old when he died. I have many memories and im the only child who does. In 1942 lewis fipps, an ashland, massachusetts, Police Officer, was assaulted by a drunk patron at a bar. He died of his injuries just a few days later. And i just couldnt believe it. You know this was my hero. How could he be dead . For a number of reasons, there was never recognition of the fact that officer fipps died in the line of duty. His police badge. Something that always bothered june but didnt come to the surface until the 1980s when another fallen officers picture went up on the wall at Ashland Police headquarters. And i said why isnt my father up there . You know this is when the wheels started to work for me. They turned in vain for some 30 years until june recently uncovered a long lost
