Stanford survives another day, same two tomorrow with the winner advancing to the College World series in omaha. Well, it has been a 36year wait for horse racings triple crown winner. Firm did it in 1978, none could take the triple crown. California chrome joined that list today. And theyre off . The 146th running of the Belmont Stakes, California Chrome came out in the second spot, trapped on the inside and had to spend too much energy to make the run. Here is the call. California chrome on the outside, tonalist, it wont be a triple crown this year. Its going to be very close. And tonalist got there. Tonalist wins the belmont by a nose, didnt win the derby oh the preakness, his owner was not happy about all horses not having to run the three events. They always set them out, they set them out and try to upset the apple cart. Im 61 years old and will never see in my lifetime, ill never see another triple crown winner because of the way they do this. It is not fair to the horses that have been in the game since day one, i look at it this way if you cant make enough point to win in the Kentucky Derby, you cant run the other two races. Sharapova third straight, simon a had not lost a set all tournament, first to do that in a slam since 1998. And of course she loses the first set, sharapova with the break point. Maria struggles, one of her seventh service break. Final set, marias experience took over. Cant do anything about that backhand winner. On champion point, the three and a half hour going wide, sharapova wins her second french open in the last three years, in three sets, i have to say California Chromes owner has a good point. They have to change the way they format the races. But not fair to only run in one race with fresh legs. You got to feel for the guy. All right, thank you so much.
