It feels like its been so long. We got a reminder of what it feel like in the bay area. Keenl of nice. They did not seem to cause problems for commuters making their way across golden gate bridge. Traffic was moving at the speed limit during the height of the morning commute. As expected, the north bay received the most rain. This is how it looked early in santa rosa. Enough to wet the ground, calm a few little puddles out there. And we want to show you a nice look at a rainbow in San Francisco this morning. This photo shows a gorgeous full rainbow over San Francisco shining brightly against dark clouds. The sierra also got its first snow of the season. This is kirkwood. They got a dusting of snow there. And well bring you a shot of the top of the resort. The tables coated with a thin layer of snow out there. Lets check in with our meteorologist. Very exciting. Were changing seasons, seeing wetter weather move in. Even though it is really light in nature. Earlier we had the cold front move through. Live doppler 7, just some sporadic light showers. We saw some light snow showers move through. The storm are coming in cooler and cooler as we get into the cooler season. Well show you the reason we didnt get a lot of moisture. Well to the north of the area, it swings into canada overnight. Well move from much of the dynamics, only some light showers were expected. Here we go. Rainfall the last 24 hours. We now know where san joses former police chief is going. The chief of police in tracy. It is less than a tenth of the size of san jose. He announced his retirement from the San Jose Police department in july. He had been with the department for 31 years and served two years as chief. San jose is his home town. On it is a tradition that High School Athletes who excel in sports get a varsity letter. Often worn on a jacket or maybe a sweater. Now it is being extended to a special olympian at pleasantons foothill high school. That young man is wearing that letter proudly. Reporter 18yearold andrew brunn told us, just putting on his letterman jacket makes him feel really good. I feel like it is meant to be on me. I worked six years doing it. It makes me feel happy. A better part of me. The. Brunn has been competing as a special olympian in basketball and bowling since he was 12. But at foothill and most high schools, varsity letters were given only to those students who achieved certain standards at school. I was thinking, why cant he have one . That is until his mother decided to make a suggestion. I was thinking about senior pictures and how families take the pictures too. We have a young man who is committed, who plays the whole season and is deserving to represent foothill athletes everywhere. The letter oblgsly means a lot to andrew but also sends a message to the larger student body. It is about meaningful inclusion. When youre playing sports for a community, for a student thats their school. To be recognized is very, very important. Hes so proud. He wants to wear it all the time. Even if it is 95 degrees out. The california Highway Patrol is warning bay bridge drivers that there will be more delays on saturday, november 7th. Thats when cal transwill implode the eastern span of the bridge.
