At the chp office in san jose and officer lawell began his career in oakland with the chp. 2 men killed respond to go crash open state highway 99 just south of fresno before dawn. They were told the wreck was on the north side of the highway but it was in fact open the south side. They suddenly realized they were headed right for it. Officer took evasive action striking any of the parties from the previous collision. Lost control of the vehicle. Struck the guard rail and severely crashed. Nobody else hurt in the accident. Chp Accident Reconstruction Team was at the crash site throughout the day recovering evidence and putting the whole thing together. Governor brown and his wife ann issued a statement offering condolence and sympathy to the family and friends of officer law and gonzalez. We general all californians the statement says in honoring these officers for their courage, commitment and sacrifice. Patrol together on the grave yard shift for 6 months. Officer ross lee now wearing a black band across his badge along with fellow chp officers across the state. I remember you know he always came to work with a smile on his face. Happy to be here. Happy to do the job. And always taking care of his responsibilities. Any calls he handled. Never seemed to have any type of bad attitude about any aspect of the job. Lee was himself fresh out of the academy and he fond himself looking up to gonzalez. Year later gonzalez took a transfer to flows where spanish was major asset this is video from our sister station that featured gonzalez on the job about two years ago. Ironically he was describing an accident. Weather conditions came around the turn he lost control of the vehicle hydroplane went off the road and took out about 60 to 70 feet offense. I learned from him where the ability to kind of respond to a scene or any type of investigation slow things down a little bit and really take the time to develop some information instead of jumping to conclusion eofficer g. Dinner time at house on fellow avenue. It was a tense fight important fire krau who at one point feared free flowing gas in the house would cause a huge explosion. Police still looking for whoever shot a man outside busy Shopping Mall downtown San Francisco. This happened just after 7 last night right outside the west field mall near powell and market. The gunman critically wounded 19yearold man but police now say hes expected to survive. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting or who knows the gunman to medley please contact police. Students in santa rosa are calling for transparency in the death of a 13yearold who was shot by a deputy. They marched through downtown santa rosa today. Demonstrators want Sonoma County da and the police to rae least findings in the death of andy lopez. He was shot by Sonoma County deputy eric last october. Lopez had an air soft beebee gun. Officers says he mistook for assault rifle. Theres a particular way in which you would have to tote the ak 47 for weight or dimension and its preposterous to assume that a 13yearold child could carry a weapon in that manner. Well all electric toll taking in effect at the gonld gate bridge for almost a year but turns out not everyone tak takes paying seriously. 60,000 cars pass lieu the toll every day and those without fast track get a bill in the mail. Its a 25 dollar fine if you dont pay within 30 days and 70 dollar fine after 60 days. Now recent data shows a lot of people dont pay their sex dollar toll when they come in the mail thats costing the brimming district millions. Got to about 40 bucks. Before we paid it.
