Pefrments say its due to a controversial measure approved in 2014. The department of justice data shows the number of fell nony arrests dropped by 52,000 arrests. The nonprofit think tank says it is because of proposition 47, which lowered criminal sentences by reducing six nonviolent crimes from felonies to misdemeanors. Right after proposition 47, the state saw a big increase inappropriate crime throughout the state. And it looks like that is continuing. Supporters of prop 47 applaud the data, claiming the atough on crime approaches in the past were not effective. Two people went to the hospital after a car slammed into a tree in redwood city. Sky 7 was over the scene near egret lane. The car hit the tree around 3 15 this afternoon. Police havent said what caused this driver to leave the roadway. Two people had to be rescue ready from a dump truck that went over an enbankment. The chp shut down highway 1 during the response and reopened about 20 minutes ago. Authorities havent said what conditions the people are in. One person was able to get out without assistance. Police have arrested a man accused of breaking into an air bnb rental in mountain view. They say he cancelled his reservation, a short time later the homeowner got a call someone opened a new credit account in their name. Police arrested the man when he showed up to pick up a new iphone. Officers found items taken from the home in his car. The woman accused of cyber stalking reality star kris jenner was back in court, pleading not guilty. The judge expanded her conditions for bail following new developments. The 36yearold is now prohibited from using any electric device to make statements or inquiries about the case after bankston asked if she can blog about the case for money. Lp a new state law that requires School Children to atte attend school with vaccinations. Reporter the law went into effect july 1. It appears the district and parents were unprepared. A last minute rush to make sure all students are up to date on vaccinations and in compliance with state law. May have kept several hundred out of class today. Its not a situation where were concerned two weeks ago, were looking at over a thousand students, then, last week, over 400 students. We have had students who continue to need support and were doing everything we can to get them the information and support they need. Police want to know who he is and charge him with mayhem for biting off the left ring finger of a bartender. It went above the base. He just ripped it with his teeth . With his teeth.
