Hundreds of students and parents rallied for equality at Albany High School today after students were targeted in racist instagram posts. This daughter is among the group of girls targeted. According to Albany Unified School district, a group of teenager boys posted racially offensive photos of their classmates, africanamerican girls, on instagram. Some posted nooses and [ null ] images. I would never say any of those things to entertain people. Obviously you have to be thinking those thoughts and be a little racist to find that funny. This is a hate crime. They hated these girls. Reporter the district is investigating who is behind the cyber bullying. We want to send a strong message that we dont accept this. Reporter Valerie Williams says this is not the first form of hate speech in the school. We had a group of students who had walked through the halls and were raising their hands. Immediately, the administration and the teachers came together and the students were talked to and discipline. Reporter these parents are hoping the students behind the instagram posts based discipline up to the point of expulsion. There is little tolerance or consequences. There will be a School Board Meeting in now many home. We are learning a mother and her two children were among the victims of a grizzly quadruple homicide in sacramento. The victims were identified today as 45yearold angela vasquez, her 14yearold daughter mia, her 11yearold son alden and 21yearold ashley coleman. 56yearold salvador vasquez was arrested in San Francisco on thursday in connection with the killings. The four bodies were found in his home in sacramento earlier that day. Investigators have not given any details on his relationship to the victims other than the last name he shares with three of them. Neighbors say that vasquez lives at the home with his wife, two children and another family member. Police have not released the motives for the murders. Police in san jose are searching for a driver who hit and killed a pedestrian. A man was walking on monterey road near the Plant Shopping Center just after midnight when he was hit by the car. The victim later died at the hospital. No description of the car that hit him so far. The livermore area Recreational Park district cornered off the tree and left a sign saying it was under examination to see if it would be cut down. Two arborists report confirm that some branches contain rocks and cavities in the district says one of them should break off and someone could be hurt or killed. It is a heavyhanded, near to kneejerk reaction that most cities have. It is risk management. The neighbors say their oak is a Heritage Tree and that the arborists reports do not reprimand removal.
