The News Conference was a 77 minute spectacle with the president playing both offense and defense and a fullcourt press against the press. Theres never been a presidency thats done so much in such a short period of time. In office less than a month President Trump boasted about his accomplishments and brushed off reports of turmoil at the white house. I turn on the tv, open the newspapers and i see stories of chaos, yet it is the exact opposite. He had to dismiss his acting attorney general. He had to face an executive order by three federal courts and take the resignation of his National Security advisor. Thats never happened to any president in history. Fine tuned machine off to a rough start. But the president deflected blame. I inherited a mess. He also said the news media is out of control. The town is such hate the tone is such hatred. I am not a bad person, by the way. He talked about leaks of classified information by the intelligence community. They feel they have nowhere to go. They dont know who is running the government. The president dismissed reports he has any ties to russia saying its a ruse or scam perpetrated by the media. Tomorrow they will say donald trump rants and raves at the press. Im just telling you youre dishonest people, but im not ranting and raving. I love this. Im having a good time doing it. Water managers say not to worry. Its structurally sound. We dont have the kind of emergency spillway that they have at oroville. We have an operational spillway thats been used numerous times. Reporter for the past five weeks the district has been releasing water as fast as possible 24 7, but the lake takes in far more water than this primary diversion system can move away, so thats why the overflow spillway may come into use for the first time in more than a decade. And we can get 2 to 3 to 4,000 cubic square feet of inflow and when that happens, the i flow is greater than the out the inflow is greater than the outflow and the water level rises. Reporter the dam is only to be kept at 68 of capacity until a seismic retrofit is completed, but with all the rain thats not been possible. As soon as we get that down to the restricted level, well all breathe a sigh of relief. Reporter back to a live picture here at coyote creek, you can see the water is really moving.
