Advisable to carry the umbrella today. Well have a shower pop up at any time of the day. Theres still that possibility of an isolated thunderstorm, as well. Our temperatures this morning are up to about 15 degrees cooler than where we were just 24 hours ago so when you have that cooler air mass overriding the warm air from yesterday, thats when we have the instability and thats when were seeing those thunderstorms popping at any time. In addition we have a high surf warning. We do have 27 feet swells that have been breaking off the point reyes coast and we have a coastal flood advisory. When we have high tide at 10 30 this morning that coincides with a high surf. Well naturally have flooding around the manzanita parkway and Santa Cruz Beach areas. And in san jose, also flooding being reported in the outside lanes of 101 at yerba buena where we have the exit shut down coming off of south 101. A car spun out hit a power pole. That car caught fire and now that power pole is down. So we have a small power outage in the area and again, south 101 approaching yerba buena, that exit is shut down at this point. The 580 commute problematic with accidents in the westbound direction of 580. Two of them approaching harrison. Another one approaching grand and theres also standing water ponding reported in the left hand lanes of 580. Now, the nimitz, no accidents but you can expect some of that ponding and the chp is warning drivers of this problem north 880 at broadway. Youre going to see it especially in the outside lanes. They tell us that at this point, southbound 880 is looking okay in terms of flooding. Right here the bay bridge toll plaza, westbound traffic still flowing well getting into the city. No traffic delays here so i guess the bright spot in all of this, the traffic volumes are lower today because it is a friday. Certainly though youre going to want to give yourself some extra time to get into work. More kcbs traffic coming up. Now to frank. Okay, thanks, liza. 5 03 your time. Now, the Police Department has faced criticism. People were outraged at a public hearing last week. The chief is asking for permission to arm his officers with tasers. It with obviously another option before using deadly force. But some city supervisors say there may be a more systemic problem. I think the question here for me is not about whether we need to have taser in sfpd. The question is what are the programs in place. Even without tasers was there a better thing to do . I believe there is. Reporter tasers are used in every major city in the u. S. In the Police Departments except detroit and San Francisco. Now, back to this lawsuit that is expected to be announced today, we are expecting some very strong words and well be hearing again from mario woods family.
