Three to four vehicles involved in the accident. Looks like it may be blocking at least the left lane. One vehicle hit a pole in the area. So emergency crews are heading to the scene, as well. The rest of 880 though north of there not bad in fact you are still light as you head past the coliseum towards the maze no delays right now from 238 to the maze only 16 minutes. If you plan to take the san mateo bridge this morning good choice. We havent seen any troubles yet. Things are quiet. Only 13 minutes out of hayward to foster city. So far traffic is light as you work your way 101 northbound coming away from capitol expressway towards 237. Its been a bad week for the Oakland Police department and its getting worse. Another name was just put on the list of officers placed on leave. Kpix 5 reporter anne makovec is live in the newsroom with how it all unraveled reporter it is another setback for a department that was trying to end more than a decade of federal oversight. Now the department is just trying to hold on to whats left of public trust. Sources tell kpix 5 this new investigation involves this homicide investigatedder Sergeant Michael gant accused of having his girlfriend write up his police reports. They are supposed to be confidential. This is unrelated to the case of 18yearold celeste guap. She claims that she had sex with more than 20 members of bay area Law Enforcement. Of those 20, she says three were opd officer and that she was a minor at the time. There are several investigations going on right now into these scandals as the Department Remains under the oversight of a federal monitor. Thats the product of a Police Scandal. The riders case 13 years ago, all of this as opd is on its third police chief in just a week. Responsibilities are changing now. Our work continues. Well stay focused. A judge could soon expand the federal monitors control over the Oakland Police department. The Mayors Department says it cant discuss the details of the scandal but, quote, this is an effort to reassure the public that we are taking swift action to address every instance of misconduct. A new permenant police chf continues. The mayor says d like to see someone from the search for a new Permanent Police chief continues. Obviously he has plenty on his plate. Thank you. A dangerously close call for two people in their santa clara home after a crash sent a car barreling into their home. Kiet do is live at the scene with the latest. Kiet reporter this is part of the traffic light the hood that goes over the red, yellow and green lights on the pole here and the crews basically just left a lot of this debris out here even the street pole is still out here. They are going to take care of it this morning. But wow what a story. We spoke with a man who lives here. He tells us they were catching up with old friends here over a glass of wine when all of a sudden, they heard a loud crash and saw headlights coming towards the window. A driver had struck another vehicle, lost control in the street and sheared off the light pole and then crashed into the house. This all happened in just seconds. Santa clara police say the driver was under the influence of alcohol when he got into that crash. Fortunately once the car reached the house all the objects it hit along the way slowed it down so there was minimal house damage. The friends went back inside the living room to see that the pole had crashed through the window and barely missed them. Because where the pole came in was like exactly where i was sitting so we came in and that was me where this light pole came into the building so yeah, it was crazy because i didnt see any of it happening. We heard it and, you know, you hear it you know, you hear brakes screeching and youre, you know, like whatever. And all of a sudden we just hear this crash so then i was sitting in the corner, they were watching it happen which was probably more terrifying than not seeing it. And i just got up and i grabbed max and we were out the door. Reporter the victims were cut by flying glass and had a few cuts on their feet when they ran and escaped barefooted through the living room. Otherwise everyone is okay. Police say at least one driver is arrested and charged with drunk driving. Live in santa clara, kiet do, kpix 5. Five days after their lives were cut short by the worse mass shooting in modern history, there will be more funerals today of the orlando shooting. People are digging into their own pockets to help. A go fund me page has already raised more than 5 million. Today also marks the oneyear anniversary of the mass shooting at a church in charleston. The pastor talked to them mourning. Time brings about healing. What you cant see today what you cant imagine today, tomorrow you can see it as a reality if you just keep moving forward. Events will be held in charleston today to remember it and show the families that they are not forgotten. It was an emotional reunion for orlando shooting victim angel colon and the Police Officer who saved his life. My name is officer omar delgado. Im one of the ones that, um, helped you get out of harms way. I need a big hug from you, man. Colon was shot three times but survived after the officer pulled him out. The two embraced for several minutes while delgado told him repeatedly that he was so glad he was alive. Colons family was also there to meet the officer. When he was dragging me out i can just look up and tell him, please hurry, go, hurry. And but now seeing him in a different environment in a happy place is awesome. Just know i helped, assisted saving that mans life, and him thanking me, that was that was cant put into words because, you know, you only get one life. Colon will stay in the hospital as he continues to recover. Happening today Opening Statements have been pushed to later this morning in the trial of pg e in San Francisco. The Utility Company is on trial for obstruction of justice and Pipeline Safety violations over the 2010 san bruno pipeline explosion. Emergency crews restored power for nearly 200,000 people in the state. People in a bar in richmond say they were listening to music when they heard a tree snap in two and land on a car. He will be celebrating with his young son who is here thanks to his father and a life saving operation. Marlie hall reports reporter jacob ortiz and his dad are now regulars on the playground. But just six months ago the 2 yearold was deathly ill. He was very scared. It was a very dark time in our lives. Reporter jacob was diagnosed with a rare liver disease. The bile ducts dont form properly. Theres no way for bile to get out of the liver and the liver becomes diseased and ultimately fails. Reporter after several unsuccessful treatments, doctors said jacob urgently needed a new liver. Thats a big one. Reporter but an organ his size rarely becomes available so jacobs dad gave his son a piece of his own liver. When you see your child in need, you want to do what you can to help out as much as possible. Reporter a doctor is the director of the transplant institute at mount sinai in new york. We need an artery, a vein, a bile duct. But we can split the liver in a way that we can actually use part of the liver to transplant the child. Reporter doctors removed about 25 of hoe saws liver and gave it to jacob. And that piece of liver will regenerate and grow along with jacobs for the rest of his life. Im just grateful honestly that, um, that i was able to do this. I wish i could give him a parade. [ laughter ] he deserves everything. He saved your baby . Yeah, he did.
