This is one of those things a building under construction and the frame is up but theres a lot of open space in the middle of the building or the nonexisting building at that point so that turns things into a matchbox so thats what we saw here with this very fierce fire that continues to burn at this hour. New this morning, we are learning a South African judge has sentenced olympian Oscar Pistorius as he was gotten a 6 year sentence for murdering reeva steenkamp. He was convicted of manslaughter and it was changed to murder last september on appeal. He had faced 15 years. He made history back in 2012 by becoming the first amputee sprinter to compete in the olympics using prosthetics. Strong winds and curious birds wont make it easy but today caltrans removed another truss from the old bay bridge. In just more than an hour, crews kick off a complicated operation to take down the bridges fourth truss. Teams will lower the 504foot truss on to a barge and bring it to the port of oakland to be disassembled. Caltrans is so confident all will go well, they are Live Streaming it. Weather permitting, the project should conclude in a up conflict days. Tesla is tangled up in another selfdriving car crash. A model x had a wreck in pennsylvania. The two men inside survived after their ride hit a guardrail and rolled over. The National Insurance crime bureau says they are seeing more reports of this type of car theft and believe this is the new way to steal a car. One of the bay areas most scenic highways is a death trap for wildlife. According to a sierra club study, 280 between san jose and San Francisco is one of the deadliest stretches for animals in the state. Newer highways are built with wildlife migration patterns in mind with undercrossings. A group of parents opposed to the new vaccine law is filing a lawsuit. Traffic isnt doing too badly as you work through there. Its 5 17. Metering lights go on around 5 30 typically so lets check conditions east of there. If you are heading towards the bay bridge heads up there are some closures now in place. That may affect your access to 580. Westbound macarthur boulevard onramp to westbound 580 is closed due to the fire. Macarthur is closed west of market and san pablo avenue north of west macarthur also completely shut down. So speeds start to slow down through the area. Spectator slowing as you work your way through there. So keep that in mind. The rest of the bay area quiet. No major accidents or problems right now.
