People who live in an East San Jose apartment complex are fighting back saying they have been living in nasty conditions for years. Kpix 5s maria medina is live at city hall where those tenants took their complaints. Reporter bedbugs, issues, the residents want city leaders to do something because they say their landlord isnt. And they say they have the photos to prove the problems at the sunny apartments off story road. They brought the photos to city hall yesterday because they say Code Enforcement has turned a blind eye. Unfortunately, the office was closed but they say their fight is not over because no one should be living in those conditions. Bedbugs and i cant sleep in the bed or in the couches. So yeah, we have to sleep in the store. They have 109 violations and we have been working norovirus a whole year, nothing is completed we have been working for this a whole year, nothing is completed. We are dissatisfied from the work with Code Enforcement. Reporter they say they are fed up. They have filed a lawsuit. But this complex is known for problems. Tenants have been complaining about the issues there for nearly 20 years. And firefighters say last year, that it was actually an electrical issue that sparked air fire that burned two children. New details. Police have arrested one of the two men wanted in connection to a shooting on a livermore trail on tuesday afternoon near the arroyo bike trail. Police say they detained a man 18yearold Fernando Cruz armento and another man shot the 25yearold victim in the stomach and then ran away. The victim is in fair condition. Officers are still looking for another suspect, 19yearold rule acalla. New information about the driver involved in a deadly bus crash in merced county. Mario vasquez had his commercial license suspended last year according to the dmv. During the time he drove the bus anyway and was cited in oregon. The california dmv never took action. The dmv says the branch in oregon didnt process the information correctly so the full report never got sent over. Of in it had been processed vasquez if it had been processed, vasquezs license would probably be suspended for four more months. Last tuesday he slammed into a pole killing four people. After two cyclists were killed in hitandruns, mayor lee is pushing to make streets safer for bicycles. Mayor lee issued an executive director to chart out by, safety improvements over bike safety improvements over the next nine months. Two female legally bicycling were killed by drivers on the same day in june. Suspects have been charged for those hitandruns but ever since the Bike Coalition has pushed mayor lee to make San Francisco streets safer for riders. The National WeatherService Confirms a tornado touched down and carried about 80mileper hour winds. The storm caused a lot of damage. At least four buildings collapsed and several cars were damaged. The wind knocked down trees and took out power lines. The wind was so strong, the wind was picking us up. All i heard was the whoo and the big boom. Damage was mostly around the 7th ward and area hit hard by Hurricane Katrina 11 years ago. San diego is trying to figure out how to deal with a rabbit problem. 30 pet rabbits have been found in parks and animal control has been trying to rescue them because they cant survive in the wild. The San Diego HealthRabbit Society says they were probably left by the same person. They all have similar characteristics. It they were easter rabbits that someone got and they were male and female and they reproduced because they werent spayed and neutered. And it just got out of hand. Well, bears, they may seem fuzzy and friendly in kids movies but in real life they can pounce and now is the time to be cautious because californias drought is bringing them closer to people than ever before. Encounters like this are becoming more common in lake tahoe area. Bears are using lakes for water since streams are drying up. Its a good way to cool off in the summer heat. When dry weather makes food scarce in the outdoors, bears head right into peoples cabins, roaming for eats. But experts warning, do not bother them. That they clearly have no fear of people. So do not help wildlife. Do not feed wildlife. Do not go take a selfie with a wildlife. It can be incredibly dangerous. Common sense. The department of wildlife also says never come between a ma bear and her cubs. There are plenty of bear families to avoid in the lake tahoe area because the region is home to between 250 and 300 wild black bears. Yeah. The video at lake tahoe always amazes me because it is cool to see the bears in person. But they were really close, some of the people there really close to the bears. Tryto keep your distance. Drive times good, though, 14 minutes heading into San Francisco from the Richmond San Rafael bridge which well talking about right now because theres an accident eastbound 580 near regatta. Over towards 580, heads up, if you are coming off the Richmond San Rafael bridge, towards the east bay, that may slow you down just a bit. Three cars involved. Blocking at least one lane in that area. Towards 101, Richmond San Rafael bridge right now, quiet. Not seeing any major snags here. Traffic looks good as you head westbound near the toll to. The accident they had earlier eastbound near emeryville is cleared off the roads so no delays if you are taking the bay bridge to oakland into berkeley. 880 and 80 in both directions look good. Lets take a look at 880 northbound the nimitz. Traffic is very light as you work your way northbound towards the maze. Southbound we havent had any troubles right now. Its been a nice ride out of hayward into the fremont area. And westbound 580, looks like we have some extra volume heading towards 680 but most delays start as you come away from 205. Area of low pressure dominating the forecast enhancing the marine influence and that means a stronger marine layer and stronger onshore flow which will keep temperatures below average even inland so you will see some sunshine inland later today.
