Police say officers shot and killed a suspect who had a shotgun and started a fire inside his home. Kpix 5s Jessica Flores is live on the scene with the details. Jessica . Reporter good morning, michelle. Theres still a very heavy Police Presence here at the sun valley mobile estate. This is where that man was shot and killed and also a massive fire happened here just feet away from neighbors. This is all connected after a very bizarre night here for neighbors. Police shot and killed the man after he barricaded and armed himself inside the mobile home and lit the home on fire. Police say it started at 9 p. M. Last night. Callers said a man was acting bizarre and challenging people to fight. Police say the man refused to obey commands and retreated into the home with a gun. He made suicidal statements and several shots were fired from inside the home. Then a crisis negotiator tried to talk him out but after about two hours, police say the man started firing from inside the home and police say the man came out with a shotgun and police opened fire. Now, before all this, police say there was a fire inside the home. They believe that man started the fire. He was the only one inside the home. The tense scene unfolded just feet from other homes. Neighbors were told to shelter in place. Eventually there was smoke coming out of the house and the fire broke out and whoever was in the house with the fire came out on the porch and we were kind of told by the police to go take cover and shelter and then, um, we heard some shots fired. Reporter no Police Officers were hurt, no one else was inside the home. So nobody else was hurt in this chaos overnight. But Livermore Police say at this time they are not releasing the name of the person who was shot and killed here in livermore. And theyre also not releasing the names of the Police Officers involved at this time. Reporting live in livermore, im Jessica Flores, kpix 5. More than 1,000 people gathered for a candlelight vigil at the university of virginia last night. The vigil was called to honor Heather Heyer, woman killed on saturday in charlottesville when a man drove his car into a crowd of people protesting against a rally. The candles were a replacement for the torches used by ralliers last weekend. In San Francisco, the National Park service wants to hear from the public about a rightwing rally planned at crissy field. There are big concerns about the potential for violence at the event. Kpix 5s jackie ward is live at crissy field with details on the permit. Reporter the permit for this rally has already been issued. But city officials are asking park service to revoke it. They are having a meeting today to discuss Credible Threats on the event later on. So the groups will be going to this meeting include the Golden Gate National recreation air, park police, fbi and others. The Group Patriot Prayer wants to rally next saturday here at crissy field on federal land. So authorities have the right to revoke a permit if they believe it interferes with Public Safety. Counter protestors plan to rally, as well. Sam singer who specializes in corporate crisis control is urging them to remain peaceful. If theres no counterprotest, all the public sees is men dressed like nut jobs talking to themselves. San francisco electrician john raymondetta was fired yesterday after his employer found out he was scheduled to speak at last weekends protest. A spokesman for the Electric Company says his actions didnt match their policy. Steve bannon condemns White Supremacy after the violence in charlottesville. He reportedly told a magazine that the group is, quote, a collection of clowns. President trump himself is sticking by his comments blaming both sides. Bannon was previously an editor for breitbart, which he referred to as the platform for the alt right. Theres a growing push for about the Oakland Police departments participation in a Homeland Security raid. We are tracking reports of it looks like some debris possibly blocking the lanes. This is southbound 17 right near the summit. So tough start for highway 17 drivers this morning into santa cruz.
