Firefighters knocked it down quickly. Todays soaring temperatures proving to be a threat with the states dry conditions. We have the hottest temperatures of the year so far all around the bay area. Oakland as fans braved intense heat, tailgating before this afternoons game against the white sox. Required gear included those umbrellas, hats, sunglasses and sunscreen. In San Francisco, very much a beach day. People hit the sand at crissy field to get a break from the heat. A lot of people out sunbathing a few even taking a dip in the bay. 90degree temperatures this afternoon on the peninsula and redwood city. People looked for shade wherever they could find it. People grabbed drinks, shorts and sandals taking break from the heat. In dublin, tough place to work outside today with temperatures in the upper 90s. Construction crews were still on the job, though, but we noticed people making it a point to hit the trail earlier this morning. The City Council Still needs to confirm the appoint by a majority vote. Wendt is a 17year veteran of the force. He served as acting chief since may after Howard Jordan suddenly extent down. A Mountain View Police Officer has been busted for child porn. Kevin nguyen was arrested after San Jose Police searched his home yesterday. Investigators say they found child porn on a computer. Investigators say that danny garcia has been cutting and stealing the burls off the trees that grow on the side of these 1,000yearold trees. Thieves go after them because they are used to make furniture and souvenirs. Removing the burls damages the trees ability to reproduce. We have a lot of kids moms and dads theres also agented waterslide as well as flotation a giant waterslide as well as flotation devices for the kids. This is really paradise. And the city of san jose has announced its going to close Alum Rock Park because of extreme fire danger tomorrow.
