Reporter so how did Milpitas Police find the car that fled the scene of that hit andrun . They followed this deep white scrape in the asphalt which led them right to the wreckage. That is basic police work 101. Around 3 30 this morning, this garbage truck was headed southbound on milpitas boulevard when it. It boned another vehicle in the intersection, tbone the vehicle. It sheared off the trunk and the tire and the other car took off in what police said was a hitandrun. From the deep white scrape marks on the asphalt it made a uturn and the scrape marks went for half mile leading to a heavily damaged cadillac missing its trunk and right rear wheels. Whats more, officers found the car on fire. There was a small fire in the trunk area of the vehicle which the officers were able to extinguish using their fire extinguishers in the police cars and they found a deceased female next to the vehicle. Reporter turns out the driver had collapsed outside the car where she was pronounced dead. She was not burned and likely died from her injuries suffered in the crash with the garbage truck. The department showed off the new members of the fleet today. They will replace older models and theres also a plan to add more paramedics. I think the bulls eye would be late in the day on friday. But the wind advisory is from friday morning through saturday morning. Well see the same winds 20, 30, 40 miles an hour with isolated wind gusts 50 to 60 miles an hour. So wet and windy. We had to have the ridge move. That was step 1. Get the ridge out of here. Now its gone. Its over Southern Nevada and western arizona. Actually a really good spot because now the tropical moisture hits the ridge and piles into the bay area. Widespread rainfall but not tomorrow. It will not arrive until friday. It is the far north bay even north of you in santa rosa tomorrow afternoon. It will be heavy rainfall but the majority of the bay area does not see rain until friday. And speaking of the north bay, you are the bulls eye. I would say from healdsburg in ukiah and lakeport all the way up to the californiaoregon border we could see rainfall totals of 6 to 12 inches of rainfall there. So flooding is certainly possible in our north bay mountains even in marin county. We could see some flooding or small stream issues coming up on friday and saturday. Wide range of rainfall totals havent moved that much over the past 24 hours. Some of you in the south bay may receive as little as one inch of rainfall. Still good but not a ton of rain. Whereas the north bay may see upwards of 8 of rainfall. Up here north of the golden gate perhaps eight times as much rain as down in the south bay and right in between we find the east bay, we find oakland, San Francisco, san mateo, with two or three inches of rainfall likely over the next several days. We need every drop. North bay rain begins tomorrow. Rain spread south coming up on friday. If you make plans over the weekend, saturday is trending dry. Sunday will be the wetter choice.
